  • Well done Cat and Welsh :D

    Now where are the piccies?!?!?!?!

Cutterby, the chest of drawers that came with DD1s bedroom furniture was a changer unit... I still ended up doing the majority of them on the floor/my lap/ sofa...

Cutterby, I found maternity jeans on ebay, brand new with tags size 14 for £15 inc postage. Worth a look.

    Congrats catwoman x

Cheers icey (how're you feeling?), I can only wish I was size 14 :o I have found some Mamas and Papas in my size, look lovely BUT I'm an akward mare and I resent paying £15 - £20 for something that was 3 pairs for £10 a couple of weeks ago - I despise ticket touts and in my mind the people who buy up the cheap/sale/reduced items then flog them on for three times as much on eBay are just as bad. That's such a rant, sorry :o

Well I've had my KK and my tea - it's the first KK I've enjoyed since being pregnant - think it's my third or fourth but the last few I've either not been able to finish or have tasted so weird that I've had to bin them... Thankfully Creature seems to have OK'd them now so :T Not that I can have too many, but the odd one as a treat is more than welcome :D

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

sarahangel, I get days like that. I get all anxious and can't pinpoint it,it's just an underlying feeling. But these days the good days are getting more frequent. Hope you feel better soon.
How are you and hubby getting on? (tell me to mind my own business if you want)

Thanks Nic, glad someone knows how I am feeling or not as the case maybe!

Just can't put my finger on it but I think I'm becoming more and more overwhelmed but I don't know why, its not like I haven't done it before. Feeling totally unprepared and fed up of being public property!
Like you the good days have been outweighing the bad days recently so I was due a little wobble.

OH and I are in a much better place now, it's taken a lot of talking, tears, give and take, forgiveness and understanding on both parts not just mine. He admitted that he could of expressed himself in a much less clumsy way but he just didn't know how to get his feelings across, at the crux of it all he doesn't want to see me slide back into a crippling depression after bubs comes along like I did with DD not thinking that he could do that just with the things he said. Oh well, it hasn't all been forgotten or forgiven but we are communicating better than we have for years and it's a big leap forward. Thanks for asking!

Anyway, must calm bubs down now, DD has been shaking, rubbing and shouting to my bump and he is going mad!

I can't remember who suggested the star chart for DD but I will be definately trying it soon if her behaviour carries on!

DD also came down with a vomiting bug on Friday night which lasted most of the weekend so she was at home yesterday but I wish I sent her to school. She seems to be in spoilt brat mode at the moment. At 8 years old she still expects me to dress her at times and needs constant supervision to do the most simple tasks i.e. brush teeth etc, it's draining at the best of times but now I'm almost 33 weeks I feel exhausted with looking after a 8 year old baby and I'm getting worried of how it's going to be when this baby comes. OH doesn't seem to get it and thinks she will grow up when he arrives but I'm not so sure and I think she will take advantage of the situation.
She is also extremely rude and mouthy to me in particular, I have had "chats" with her most weeks to reassure her but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
Would it help if you told her how much more helpful a much younger child is? If so, below is what my 3 1/2 year old does but I've whited it out so that you don't have to read it if you would find it unhelpful to know:
    • volunteers to carry my breakfast (made by my husband) up to me in bed in the mornings
    • frequently offers to bring me food and drink and willingly brings anything I ask for
    • gets a simple tea for herself e.g. bread, cheese, banana and a drink (OH working lates so we have our main meal made by him in the middle of the day)
    • aside from needing help with buttons on the back of dresses and me having to close her blind, gets herself entirely ready for bed by herself
    • plays quietly on the bed or "reads" me bedtime stories if I am resting in bed
    • accepts the fact I don't have the energy to read her stories or take her out and about without any fuss
