Hi ladies, sneaking on from the less than 12 weeks thread, have been reading back a little and was just wondering a few people have put they would prefer a c section rather than forceps in their birth plans - is there a reason for this? I know it's early to be thinking about it but I would probably forget by the time that I need to know so thought I would ask now!
I would wait before making your mind up and have a listen at the antenatal classes to make your own decision.
From reading forums I'd been adamant - no forceps. But now I'm open to it. If they are using them for the right reasons, I'd rather have an episiostomy (already had one of these and it's not that bad) than have a csection.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I LOVE S&G stuff and have asked for some for Christmas. I really want one of those offers at boots, but am weighing up the fact that its such a bargain with that I'm going to be getting some for xmas anyway. Also, I'll be moving in the spring/summer so don't want to accumulate lots of stuff just to have to move it, if that makes sense!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Morning ladies.
Well done Welshlassie and Catwoman. Enjoy your mummycuddles
Sammy - I am getting the Pebble and Fairy Shazza is getting the Cabrio but i'm not sure what the difference is really except price. I got the Pebble with the Familyfix base so we can get the Pearl at toddler stage.
Went to visit my friend last night who is 16 weeks. She has no bump whatsoever. We were comparing our NYE outfits and she has a very slinky, strapless, skin tight black dress so to be hoped her belly doesn't pop before then :j. She is also considering the Zoom so we could look very odd on our mat leave together with our identical prams.
I got some lovely outfits from Pumpkin Patch last night, they have a sale on, still very expensive though.
I'm 25 weeks today :j but bubs is very quiet - not felt him/her yet.
Hope you are all having lovely Fridays so far. Tis the season to be jolly......:rudolf::rudolf::rudolf:0 -

the reason, I say no to forceps is that some countries such as Canada have banned the practice some time ago. It was judged the cons outweighted the pros for a healthy delivery. C sections were deemed safer for both the mother and baby.
In the UK, the use of forceps is not actually recommanded but is not forbidden either. It is left to the practicien to make a decision to use or not.
I believe (my personal opinon) whoever does a C section will have followed a better training than whoever uses forceps.
I see a C section as a much safer option for both myself and the baby.
I am OK with the use of the ventouse first though before taking me to the operating table.
I'm looking for a link to where I found that info but can't find it...0 -
Congratulations to Catwoman as well, though sounds like you really went through it. Glad baby is here safely and you're enjoying him
Does anyone know what happened to the man with the twins, was it ManOnTheMoon? He doesn't seem to be on the list.0
