My OH's best friend was a forceps birth and has had a limp all his life because of it - I don't know what exactly the problem is but I know it's because of forceps. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Hey everyone.
I haven't properly caught up but, congrats to Welshlassie and Catw0man!
I've been so tired the last couple of days, been in bed at 4pm resting both days. Not sure if it was the trip to the Fort that did it, (And wow, I have never seen it so busy!) or the fact I'm not sleeping very well, it gets too sore after a while.
I have physio this afternoon, not sure what to expect, but hopefully they can help.
Also getting nervous about scan on Sunday. As much as we want to find out the sex, They do a wellbeing check apparently and I'm anxious to see that baby is okay. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
Morning mums to be, and congratulations to the new arrivals
Well the snow is coming down thick and fast in Zummerset and as I have 10 days til my section date I'm now hoping bump stays put until it's time for the official eviction.....don't fancy trying to get down a steep hill to the M5 to make it to hospital in this weather!
Schools closed today so have DS and DD home making all kinds of chaos with glitter and glue....ah well it's Christmas
Thinking I should go and pack hospital bags today.....the days seem to have snuck up on me.....ah well I have everything I need just not all in one place!"Put the kettle on Turkish, lets have a nice cup of tea.....no sugars for me.....I'm sweet enough"0 -
I'm sure everything will be fine GL. Just think of it as another chance to see your little baby.
Can I ask advice on baby clothing to the mums?
I'm really stressing about what I'll be dressing baby in. Am I right in thinking that for staying in the house baby can stay in sleepsuits with a blanket but then when going out will need a cardigan or fleece suit? Doesn't a cardi over a slwwpsuit look silly? What about his little legs?
Things would be easier if we weren't Team Yellow.
I've been looking for a coming home outfit but as we don't know the sex I'm stressing. I know it is all upto me as to how I dress my baby but I honestly have no idea. I'm clueless about clothing. I'm just buying things randomly.
For a nice coming home outfit I was just thinking of getting a cute sleepsuit and putting baby in a fleece suit for warmth for journey home. I'm not keen on pretty dresses and dungarees on newborns. I saw full on dress, tights, jeans, tracksuits outfits for newborns yesterday and wasn't keen on any of them. Any advice truly welcome.0 -
Good morning girls - I got a day off today with the weather so will take the chance to have a wee catch up! DD's are at school :j
Congratulations to all the new mummy's - I am getting a bit close to the top too - how did that happen?? Don't think either DH or I have fully realised what is coming - ha ha - we both have moments when we think - oh s*** we are doing it all over again :eek: - but in a good way if that makes any sense! The snow was fairly falling last night. Woke up to a good couple of inches. I don't think it has to snow much more over the next few days so hopefully it wont be as bad as it was a couple of weeks ago. We are supposed to be going to the panto in Inverness tomorrow but will have to see what the roads are like (it's by bus).
Ooh Teenie we must live fairly close to each other! we are off to the panto on sunday - DD1 was there on Tuesday with brownies and said it was brilliant - she has been really good not telling us any details though! and is looking forward to going again. Inverness itself is ok really - as long as not huge amounts more fall from the sky! just depends on what road you are travelling to get here - will keep it all crossed for you.
My birth plan goes as follows - will have anything required to ensure safe arrival of baby. Would really rather not have a c-section but fully realise it is a strong possiblity and safety of baby and myself is paramount. Will take any advice that is given.
Think it relates to the birth of my DD2 which was very traumatic - due to no fault of midwives, and therefore only the safety of us both is paramount - anything else I will recover from. Also I am very laid back - lol - although DH would not agree with that!!
Off to hospital on Monday for GTT no 4!!! have become an expert at them now - and also got a growth scan. baby was 2 weeks ahead of dates 4 weeks ago - so will be interesting to see what size it is now!
Phew! long post - better go do some housework now! catch you later on ladies.DD1 - May 02 8lbs 6oz
DD2 - June 05 10lbs 6oz
DD3 - 24th Jan 11 7lbs 9oz

We're bringing ours home in a vest, sleepsuit and snowsuit over the top as we're due in a month. I don't think a cardy over a sleepsuit would look funny? Legs could be covered up with a blanket if needs be anyway. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Im trying to think back Dusty but im sure I just dressed both mine in vests and sleepsuits/babygrows all the time. But they were both summer babies. My Mil bought loads of cute new born dresses and trousers etc but they were a faff and I was happy to keep with the babygrows as they are comfy and easy to change nappies.
For going out I would pop on a cardi or a wee jacket and a hat. Even though it was summer. it was easier to take layers off, and no a fleece didnt look silly with a sleepsuit.
Both mine went home in really cute velour babygrows (which I have put in their baby box). As were having ours in April I will be doing the same but have a fleece or jacket too. They were always under a shawl or blanket anyway, even in the car seat.
When in hospital OH had to bring me extra babygrows as DS had been sick so many times, Their own make pack of threes were cute and washed ok considering they only wore them for about 2 weeks before growing out.
I hope that makes sense.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Hi dustystar - my advice if have a few outfits as we found that as soon as you put them in that nice new outfit they opened their mouth and out came their feed or the tar like poop from first couple of days so you ended up having to change them again lol
Simple pieces that dont have too many buttons/fastenings are also a good idea and babygrows that dont have feet as some babys have longer legs or bigger feet etc.
Their just some things we found out first time around that were useful to know xI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

The snow is mental again here. We have had a foot fall since yesterday afternoon. it was green grass until then.
Oh and DD are off school as both schools are closed. They were both outside playing with the sledge and snowballs etc for around 15 mins. DD was well wrapped up. But when they came in we were in the hall and I was helping her take her jacket off when her eyes rolled and she collapsed. She started to shake/convulse. Then she came too.
Luckily I was holding her jacket as she would of cracked her head on the floor.
I got such a fright, but she has done this before when I was changing a plaster.
Not sure if it was the shock in temperature. Has anyone else had similar experience?
Ill mention it to the doctor when im there next week. She gave us a hell of a fright.
She was in hospital when she was 15 months when she'd had a high temp then she had Febrile convulsions (sp?) she was in for 3 days to keep and eye on her. but the doctors said it happens a lot and fobbed us off really.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
