  • Nic, that must have been so scary!

Thanks Dusty, I don't think being so tired is helping tbh, always worry more then. Did your bathroom stuff arrive yet?

I've just ordered this from Amazon - Pampers Wipes - Seems a good deal?
 Mummy to an amazing little girl
  • I tell you, I had so many clothes with DD when she was born it was a complete waste. I gave a lot away to charity with the labels still on them!

I'm literally buying vests/sleepsuits and one outfit in case we go anywhere nice. I may not even bother with the one outfit. I refuse to do it this time. I have a couple of ladies knitting for me so cardies and shawl on their way to go with the sleepsuit. I'll get a snowsuit (all in one thingy that zips up) and that'll do. Anything else the baby needs gives me an excuse to get out and about and get some exercise afterwards. As long as the baby is warm and comfortable I don't see the problem with sleepsuits. Some come in a plain white that can be jazzed up with a different coloured cardie!

Definitely no frills this time round for me!!

Annibee, welcome to the club of I feel poo. I'm on day 3 off work and can't shake it....but I'm darned if I'm missing DHs christmas do as I've been looking forward to it since I bought the dress when I first found out I was PG. I WILL GO TO THE BALL! Have already missed one this week, missing my lunch today so that's it...Manchester here I come after I've cleared my head, had a bath and feel human again...and a kip. Have an apartment booked which is 2 bedroomed so if I still feel pants we have the option of sleeping apart for the 4th night in a row :(

Dusty, baby is due April so you'll be fine with baby grow and a white knitted/fleece cardy. Don't get hun up on staying team yellow, you won't want a fashion parade for a baby and tbh babies look best in white when they're all new and lovely. Society says we put boys in blue and girls in yellow. I say WHITE!

Right, DH brought me breakfast in bed (even though I'd already finished off 2 weetabix an hour earlier) bless, so better eat them. I'll start to look like them soon but at least they're good for you :)

Laters lady bumps. Check in after my next sleep and getting ready session. The day is flying by today :)

I'm sure everything will be fine GL. Just think of it as another chance to see your little baby.

Can I ask advice on baby clothing to the mums?
I'm really stressing about what I'll be dressing baby in. Am I right in thinking that for staying in the house baby can stay in sleepsuits with a blanket but then when going out will need a cardigan or fleece suit? Doesn't a cardi over a slwwpsuit look silly? What about his little legs?
Things would be easier if we weren't Team Yellow.

I've been looking for a coming home outfit but as we don't know the sex I'm stressing. I know it is all upto me as to how I dress my baby but I honestly have no idea. I'm clueless about clothing. I'm just buying things randomly.
For a nice coming home outfit I was just thinking of getting a cute sleepsuit and putting baby in a fleece suit for warmth for journey home. I'm not keen on pretty dresses and dungarees on newborns. I saw full on dress, tights, jeans, tracksuits outfits for newborns yesterday and wasn't keen on any of them. Any advice truly welcome.

Tesco have some nice beige/cream outfits. April babies are quite easy to dress, I've got two lol and a babygro/cardi combo should be fine most of the time as someone has said. If there's a chilly breeze you can just use exra blankets or put the raincover on the pram. No one will think bad of a baby out in a sleepsuit. If anything you'll get old ladies saying 'isn't it nice to see a baby all wrapped up properly' :rotfl:

There are some nice 'thumper' (bambi) disney branded unisex things in ASDA if you like disney.
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o
  • I'm buying a mixture of sleepsuits (short and long sleeved), vests, cardies, hats and socks. I am going to get a couple of blue sleepsuits, and maybe a 'special outfit' to come home in or visit people in for the first time. Otherwise he will be wearing sleepsuits most of the time until bigger. No point buying full on outfits when they grow out of them so quickly, and you have to change nappies so frequently.

I don't know whether to buy a snow suit/pram suit as May can be so variable weather wise. Technically it is still Spring, but can feel like Summer sometimes. Will have to see what the weather does, and whatever layers I wear, baby will have an extra one.

Dusty we are team yellow too and I’m just buying neutral baby grows and have brought a couple of fleecy pram suits. I don’t really see the point of ‘outfits’ for newborn babies as they just strike me that it would be a right old faff to get them on and off.

I’m buying a few newborn items but in the larger end of the scale – some places newborn only goes up to 7lbs so am trying to get any newborn things from places where they go up to 10 or 11lbs as am hoping baby will not be that big! The rest of the stuff I am buying in 0 – 3.

Luckily we live right opposite the hospital so going home outfit isn’t too much of an issue for us as we will be home within 3 minutes anyway! Will probably put bubs in one of the smarter sets or in one of the pram suits though.

I know that once he/she gets here I will want to go out and buy some gender specific stuff so am not spending much on neutral items of clothing. I’ve brought a lot of stuff second hand from Ebay and car boot sales and just got a couple of nice new sets which have long legged baby grow, short baby grow, hat, mittens and bib.

I may have to buy a couple of 'outfits' once bubs gets here as we have three weddings to attend - one approximately 7 weeks after my due date, one the week after and then another a month later. Will cross that bridge when we come to it though!

That sounds frightening Nic, is she ok now? Hope so! xx

Well, I bid on the changing station/table/drawers thingy, it ended while I was taking Moo to school and someone else bid so we didn't get it - I didn't bid very high as I wasn't fully sure we'd need it anyway so I don't mind too much but will definitely keep an eye out for another one.

Thanks to everyone who's advised on maternity jeans/changing stations :D

We're April due too, I've only bought vests and sleepsuits (and a gorgeous little hat!) for now - just to echo what everyone else has said :o We've still got outfits from when I had Moo that are unworn with tags - so I wouldn't bother buying anything other than vest and sleepsuits and snowsuits really - apart from maybe one nice outfit for bringing bubs home in :)

Ohhhh I am starving today!!! Hubs has laughed at me but it's not funny!! I've had my Frosties this morning, a shop bought bacon butty, a two finger Kit Kat and two bags of Hula Hoops :o:o:o It's not like I'm a skinny mare to start with! *sigh*

    Hope you're all ok xxxx
All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

  • No tomorrow is the last day of term at our place. Unfortunately as I am admin staff I work 52 weeks a year so as everyone else gets excited and happy about breaking up I have to work all next week (including Christmas Eve) :(

I'm knackered it's been a long half term this one.

    Bummer.
Just a quick one to say I had a little girl, Charlotte Megan on Friday 10 Dec at 10:37am weighing 8lb 5oz, we had 3 nights in hospital so they could monitor her for 72 hours for withdrawals because of the medication I'd been on during the pregnancy. She's absolutely fine and we're now home.
I had the most amazing birth experience, around 5 hours from first contraction to delivery, laboured and delivered in the birth pool with a bit of gas and air. I couldn.t have asked for a nicer experience.

    Great news, congrats!
Oh, please tell me more. PM if need be x

Best not discuss it, we don't want to get closed down again.

catwoman mega congrats and hoping you heal swiftly.

sammy Paris ...how jealous am I? Last time in Paris went to a wedding at the "institut du monde arabe" was awesome.

dusty mine go in sleepsuits with a vest under/just a vest in the summer indoors, with a snowsuit or a fleecy oversuit outside if cold, and hats of course when its cold or theyr'e little. They say babe needs one more layer than we do. Babies don't care what they're wearing when they're brand new, and IME hate both clothing and being dressed and undressed. I guess I would if I had been wallowing naked in water for 9 months!

nic go back and see your GP, just in case it wasn't a febrile convulsion but an epileptic one. Let's hope its a one-off, if she's under 5 it could be a recurrence.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x
