  • Actually, I lied, I'm still here and still annoying you all! ;)

I've phoned yesterday and got a physio appointment for Friday. All go just now.

Aaaand, I have no idea what else I was going to say...

Oh, I know what it was. Flu jab, I've had mine. Was no bother and better than last year. I had the 2 separate ones last year and had a huge red lump and a sore arm I couldn't sleep on for at least 10 days. This time, a tiny lump and much less sore for a few days. I heard on the news yesterday that 10 people have already died this year. It's an inactive vaccine (or I wouldn't be able to get it) so should pose no risk to baby.

I've just tried ringing my docs to book in and was told the next flu jab clinic is the end of Jan!

    This is my birth plan:
    Birth Plan

If you think I state things which should not need to be explicitly stated, I agree. However, based on my previous birth I believe it is necessary.

No debate about my birth plan. Notes detailing my reasoning are available if required.

I am planning to have a homebirth.

My husband, daughter and doula will be present within the house and at times within the same room as me.

Any other people should only enter the room where I am labouring with my express consent.

I will eat and drink as desired.

Although I have no particular plans to use any drugs during labour and birth, please note that despite being thin, I am not below average weight as I am much taller than average.

    No vaginal exams.

    No electronic monitoring.

    No amniotomy.

    No episiotomy.

Birthing position to be chosen by me - please do not force me to give birth on my back.

I will push when I choose - nobody should be telling me when to push or shouting at me to push.

Low lights at the time of birth unless bright lighting is clinically indicated.

Low voices - especially no shouting.

Baby to be caught by me. (If I am in an unsuitable position to do so, baby may be caught by my husband or midwife and given to me ASAP - baby does not need to be weighed first.)

    I will breastfeed.

I want to have a physiological third stage:
    • no syncometrine
    • no cord clamping or cutting
    • no controlled cord traction
Vitamin K only to be administered in the event of an instrumental delivery.

    Emergency Birth Plan

    Emergency Caesarean Section

I would prefer to have a spinal rather than a general anaesthetic so that I can see/hold my baby as early as possible.

    My husband to be present.

Baby to be given to me as soon as is possible. If I am unable to take baby, baby is to be given to my husband instead.

Cord clamping/cutting to be delayed as long as possible.

    Baby to have vitamin K.

    I will breastfeed.

Ace. Can I copy some of it, pls?

cutterby you made me blub too, but in a good way.

dusty that is a reasonable weight gain, pls don't worry. I am 25 weeks (I think, SAMMY?) and have gained 5 lbs. But I am overweight.

Been for GTT. She made me drink the most disgusting glucose powder stirred into cold water, imagine drinking half a pint of royal icing, made me feel quite sick.
Still, she got the blood, and I got her to do an iron test while she was stabbing me.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

At 36 weeks that's 'a celebrity bump' if ever I saw one
Blooming heck. Maybe I haven't measured right? I'm 11st bang on and I was 10.4 at my booking in appt.

    There's 14 lb in a stone so you've gained 10 lb.
There you go an extra 4 lb without actually going up in weight;)

I've gained 2 stone so far, maybe a teeny bit more. Am now 11.5 stone. Does the weight gain slow down towards the end?

It's not something I'm worried about I just don't feel like I have put much on so was asking out of curiosity.
In my first pregnancy I lost loads of weight and got back up to my genuine pre-pregnancy weight at about six or seven months.

Eek I'm 12.5 stone :s gained 30lb so far. My weight gain has slowed down the last few weeks. Maybe because I'm watching the chocolate (or trying to).

Had my labour and delivery antenatal class. I cannot believe it but now Ive seen the instruments with my own eyes and now understand the circumstances which they are used I'm no longer not so anti forceps/ventouse. I'm even not so scared about a csection - we can have our own music playing if it happens :) I don't know why but that somehow makes me feel better.

I've decided not to have a birth plan. I'm too much of a list person and I feel having a plan will have a more negative effect on me if things don't go to plan. I'm for once trying to remain chilled and open minded about everything. I'm not saying I don't agree with them - it's just what I believe I should do for me.

OH got to ask his important question - can he bring a Maccy Ds back onto the post natal ward! And yes he can :D I'll be having an egg muffin if the baby is born in the morning ;)

Afternoon ladies, just a quick check in as i'm at center parcs, and the wifi is rubbish.
Went to the spa yesterday and a lovely lady working in there, told me that i should only have paid pregnancy rate (i'd never heard of it....they don't advertise it). So instead of i being £36, it was only £10. Admittedly there wasn't many things i was allowed to do in the spa, but it was still relaxing and i got to chill with the girls :-)

Regarding weight gain....i've put on at least 1 stone 2lbs and i'm 28+1 (am i in 3rd trimester now?....wow, thats come quick), i think by the time we get home i'll have put on a few more :-)

Right, going to try to run back a few pages and catch up. Labour vibes to those wanting them :-)
Hmmm really? I went to the spa at center parcs whilst pregnant and when I asked they said it was £10 off, so making it £26 which wasn't worth it as we did the £20 moonlight spa offer. I think there's still plenty to do, I could spend all the time in the showers and on the water beds. It's just the saunas/steam rooms you can't do.

@salska - there are quite a few of us wanting to use cloth nappies. I found the nappy lady youtube videos a great help in seeing what the different types are. Check your council to make sure there are no incentives, some offer money back, or trial packs. Ours only has a trial pack that you have to borrow and give back, but I'm still doing it to try out the different types. My favourite so far on looking are bumgenius all in ones with poppers. But I have a tumble dryer - so drying time isn't an issue. Still I'm keeping an open mind and trying others. I will use disposables for the first few weeks until I buy a set.
