  • Evening ladies...

I'm 18 weeks today & I've suddenly found myself thinking about having a planned cesarean. I had a pretty rough time with Ruby, she was back to back & I ended up having an emergency cesarean after 55 hours.
I've been seen by consultant already who has given me all the statistics like 70% of women who have a cesarean manage a vaginal birth etc. There is no way you would be left as long again...If there are any problems we will take you straight down for a cesarean. But is this a load of carp? Will they just let me get on with it like they did with Ruby?
I took all of this on board & thought it all sounded ok but now I'm beginning to think I'd prefer a planned cesarean. I'm not relly sure how I go about this? I'm not due to see my midwife for another 10 weeks. Do I just tell her then? I'm a bit confused!? Anyone else opted for a planned cesarean? When did you tell them & how long do I have to get it planned if I decide that's what I want? Ahhhh!
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:

Thanks for the advice. Back in bed after a shattering day at work. Luckily village pharmacy is a Boots one so I'll persuade hubby to go in the morning. Take care. x

Didnt just want to read and run. I'd ring your midwife and ask to discuss birth options as you are worried about it following your previous experience. It may be a case of this time baby is in the perfect position and you have a simple 5 hour labour. It may be worth running through it in great detail what you want to do if things arent progressing well and when to take the decision. At the end of the day it is your body and your baby!

Anyways - cloth nappies - anyone planning on using them?

I have a few stored up already. A few all in ones I got from Tesco using double voucher points, a few prefolds, a few bumboozles I bought second hand at a nappy fayre, and I'm going to get some terry nappies as they are fastest drying.

From all my research it suggests getting a few of each type and seeing what works for you and your baby.
  • Dear god!

I attempted to do my whole Xmas food shop online. I went from veggies to salad (couldn't FIND cherry toms for the life of me) onto the fruit and eventually gave up. Who does this often???!!!!

Sod this, mums going to Iceland!

I use mysupermarket when I do online grocery shopping as it has much better functionality.

  • I think i'm just a kinda 'fill the trolley up with whatever you like' kinda gal! It made me feel ill looking at all the segments. I'll go to Iceland Thursday, grab the frozen stuff then do a salad/fruit run next week. Got enough of that to last this week.

Seriously gotta figure out how long to defrost a frozen turkey crown for though! If I get 5 mins break from work (i'm still working now!) then I'll google it.

Google apparently is my friend. It better be! A good friend will tell me how long to leave the turkey out of the freezer for before I can cook it! :D
