  • Well my bloodflow scan went well this morning and hasn't got any worse:j a different consultant did it, he's the head of the department. I didn't leave in as good mood as I should have as he reviewed my notes and commented that DD was a very lucky girl indeed and should have been stillborn! !!!!!! kind of thing is that to say to a pregnant woman:mad: he has changed me to fortnightly scans now instead of every 3-4 weeks to be on the safe side but he said so far things look okay.

Just watching Fizz in labour on Corrie how many weeks is she?

ok, i've only read back a few posts but:

re: thrush - i am 99% sure you can use canastan cream even tho it tells you not too. i use vagisil and that says no. my theory is if i can take steroids a bit of cream ain't gonna hurt.

re: labour. you can actually (pre medical conditions allowing) take co-codimal. my last midwife actually suggested i buy some for my med cupnboard last time and it saw me thro brilliantly until i eventually gave in and went to mat hospital (3cm dilated - about 6 hour before DS was born) when they had to surgically remove me from gas and air.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • thanks girls

I have some canestan as the Dr says I can use it when I get a flare up, I have changed into my jammies (surprise surprise there) and because they are really loose I am a bit more comfy than when I was still in my work clothes lol am just glad that this is nothing to worry about and just a case of thrush....as I was saying was just a bit concerned coz I had never had the swelling with it before

Have to go and do a bit of reading back.....have been watching a few recorded programmes with hubby whilst eating my strawberry shortcake hagan daas lol, only half a tub left to go :P

Labour vibes to those in need and as I say have to go read back and see if there are any congrats required lol......

Hugs to those with morning sickness or just general sickness and good luck and safe moving to those on the move xxxxx

RLT - the research on it is very thin - its mostly anecdotal so up to you to decide if to, when to and how much. I started with one cup a day at 34 weeks, but really not enjoying it, so will struggle to up the dose nearer the time.

I used to gag when drinking more than one cup. Not sure why as i actually like it.

So i think it will be doing the rlt tabs this time around.

My MW said the first 1 to 5 cms take the longest (especially with a first birth)

Not for everyone :p I went from 0-6cm in under 2 hours :D The next 4 took 5 hours though :(

Last time around my mum turned up at the hospital (uninvited ) because "she was worried about me" even though i had text her an hour before to tell her that the birth went great and Lily was completely healthy. Next time we're not telling anyone im in labour, except ILs as they are looking after Lily.

I have my 18wk appointment with MW tomorrow, i've written a list of things i want to discuss so i dont forget. I need to remember to pee in my little pot tomorrow morning, i might stick it to the toilet door so its in my face when i go :rotfl:

I want a changing table, but we dont even use a change mat so it doesn't seem worth it. Also we have a small house.
Im just a sucker for nice things :o

Those of us ladies with a pierced belly button - when did you swap your stud or ring for a pregnancy one? My belly button has not changed a lot yet, but I can see the middle of it a lot clearer, so only a matter of time.

Also, can you recommend a good site that sells good ones please?

I took mine out for my last scan and will for me 20w one a week on monday. I didn't want it to look chavvy. I've got a plastic one from eBay with a heart on so I'll slip it back in if the other doesn't go back in. Mine heals within a day unlike my ears which I haven't worn earrings since ...oo can't remember.

On changing tables, I bought a set with one in. I know it wrecks your back doing it on the floor so I'm not going down that route.

Mad, I think I'll have everything bought by 20w! I hate shopping in the high street so get deliveries every day near enough at work! Although I did go to the Trafford Centre on Tues which was blissly dead and bought 3 pairs of trousers. 1 in Mamas n Papas for £5 from £40 hurrah!

Right, time to watch Corrie live, but not for me as I sky plused it!

    Na nightX
  • Hello mums with bumps big and small.....I am SO on a countdown now......19 days til my c-section date, thats if the little fella stays put and doesn't make an early appearance.

I feel like I've got a space hopper up my top.....sitting down now my boobs are on my bump and my bump is on my thighs....there cannot possiblly be any room left in there!! Funny thing though when I went to collect DD from pre-school earlier the staff said I looked "radiant and I had a designer bump, all neat and tidy" ha, you try hauling a stone and a bit around on your front.....radiant ... no, fat, heavy and way too many braxton hicks for my liking!

Oh and my mum calls them Branston Hicks!! Pickle contracations anyone!!

Do you have any links to information about that?

Haha I've been known to call them that too :o

I'm not getting a changing table. No room for one and I honestly can't see myself going upstairs to change the baby everytime.

    Evening xx

Had 28 week MW appointment today. Didin't realise she was doing bloods again. Anyway cue me, flat out on bed with fan in my face! :o

Also measured bump, measured 29 cm, apparently it should be a cm for every week, not sure how accurate that is.

Hope you're all okay, and labour vibes to those who need them xx :A
