    Congrats Krystal:T

Labour vibes to those that need!

Got my results for downs syndrome today, it is low risk, 1:2467 which am happy about considering my age etc. I may start relaxing a bit more for a bit as everyone keeps telling me to do, but will start stressing before 20 week scan probably.

More people now know as news spreads through the office. Have had one "was it planned?" which slightly annoyed me. Everyone has been so pleased for me and surprised, even more so I kept quiet for so long!

Loving the placenta talk...can't wait for that experience, although someone put they hoped to cough and it would come out...thats what happens with baby...right?:D

Oh and agreed to buy a Mothercare moses basket and stand for £10.00 at work, not sure how old it is but think the stand will be handy as saw them on their website for over £20.00, my brother still has their moses basket as well so will have a choice. So much for waiting until 20 weeks!!
:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:

How desperate are they to sell and move? Ever heard of gazundering? Probably not morally nice, but could save you a few pounds, especially if the sale might be delayed until after Christmas when VAT rates go up, which would cost you money.

Our planning application for our extension took about 8 weeks as far as I can remember.

Its a good idea. Never mind about morally nice, they tried to do you over with the planning permission. I would.

Evening lovelies. Wow just been watching the student protests, scary stuff-wonder how many of the "protesters" actually knew what they were supposed to be protesting about!

Anyhoo, Ice sorry you are feeling rough hun, lots of rest and TLC in order. Regarding your mum being at the birth, I suppose all hospitals are different but we are only allowed one birthing partner in at a time (not that I would want anyone except OH there) could be a good excuse not to have her there ;)

RBG sorry not sure, I have been getting little outbreaks and it did get very sore and red at one point (the skin cracked owwww ) but I just have to keep using cream now and again. It's such a horrible thing!

    Kat good luck!

Chakani ((hugs)), don't be so hard on youself, at least you tried (which is more than I would do :o). Sit down and have a cuppa and a biccy xx

OMG My parents would kill me if I did that  I _think_ my mum knows it's just me and OH at the birth :o My hubby is convinced that my mum will expect to be there. OF course she can come as soon a baby is born (if allowed) but I hope she doesn't think she'll be waiting in reception!
We didn't phone our parents till the next day. And only then because OH was due to work for my Auntie and had to cancel so we thought we should tell parents first.

Ooh, we have chosen what cotbed and changer we are getting now as well

Hope that link works!! We are just getting the cotbed and drawers as the nursery is tiny, think we might also get a cot top changer (I am bound to cover the drawers in stuff so won't be able to use it for bubs). Has anyone used one? I suspect I will only use occasionally for night time changes, but have seen them pretty cheap on eBay.

I always just used the floor - that way you don't have to worry about them falling off.

I don't think we will get a changing unit. Unless you have room to have it sticking out into the room then you'll be changing baby from the side, which seems more awkward to me. Also, if we have a boy I'd be worrying about him spraying the walls!!
We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.
  • Those of us ladies with a pierced belly button - when did you swap your stud or ring for a pregnancy one? My belly button has not changed a lot yet, but I can see the middle of it a lot clearer, so only a matter of time.

Also, can you recommend a good site that sells good ones please?

Hi DigitalPhase, when I went for my 12 week scan, the sonographer told me that I had to take my belly bar out before my 20 week scan, which I did and my belly button has really expanded, Im 30+2 now.

    Evening lady bumps

Ok I have a question and it's quite a personal one so possibly TMI coming up :S

I was in work this morning and started getting uncomfy down below so when I came home I visited the bathroom and realised I must be having a little outbreak of thrush, common during pregnancy I know. My problem is that I am swollen and it is really uncomfy now but am not sure what else I can do other than applying a little cream to the area??? Is the fact I am swollen anything to worry about??? I would be prone to thrush anyways but have never got so sore and never so swollen :S

Hi - I've had this but not when I was pregnant - I think it was to do with the fact that I was sitting strangely and cut off all the circulation to one of my foof lips! It went down overnight, I think I just put a cold flannel on it for a while. HTH.

I'M SO UNCOMFORTABLE - get your foot out of my ribs!
