I just had another lesson. Apparently it's all going quite well - the actual driving is fine (today I felt really comfortable and "natural" driving), but I still don't look/observe enough. In Holland there's a road sign every 3cm, lines and markings all over every road and separate bike paths everywhere to look out for (often with speeding 16 year olds on mopeds).
Anyway, I asked my instructor today when I'd be ready for the test and he didn't really want to commit - said that I really have to improve all this observation.
So I'm starting to get a bit concerned if I'll make it before d-day (15th Feb), what with Christmas and everything......
How long do you think I can drive for? I'm quite short (my knees are almost touching the car under the steering wheel). I'm alright at the mo, if I get the seat angle right, but wondering what will happen when I get bigger (29 weeks tomorrow)
I'm still driving quite comfortably at 39 weeks with a mahoosive bump - which is about 2 inches from the steering wheel (it's not ideal). But I don't know how I would feel being a learner/new driver this late on. My sister had her test scheduled for her due date but had to cancel obviously but continued her lessons - dd was born 2 weeks early!0 -

It's still snowing very heavily here, expecting lots more too. My sister and I are going to walk to Asda to get some essentials as the roads are bad, it's about 2miles each way so maybe it will help bring on labour:o Although DH could do with the nightshift tonight as the money would be very useful!0 -
Just finished this week's Gossip Girl - disappointing lack of Mr Bass, I must say. Anyway, it's made me realise we haven't shared our hot men for a while and there are newbies here, so here is Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) in all his sneering glory:

Just wrote out a post and then iPlayer crashed Firefox :mad::mad:
Anyway, briefly, I am 18 weeks today and definitely feeling bubs now. Have been since 16 weeks, but am more sure of it being baby now rather than wind. Especially when I get an internal twitch, or flick. Heard baby on my doppler again at the weekend and really had to chase baby around, what a fidget. Takes after me then :rotfl:
I was wondering about prams/travel systems, and would like to get an idea for what we are going to buy.
I especially like the Mamas and Papas ranges. I was looking at the Rubix, plus the Cybex Anton car seat, which seem to meet our requirements, and just a little over what we're looking to spend, which is fine.
Has anyone got any recommendations for prams/travel systems?
Requirements are: must be suitable for tall people to push, fit into back of fairly roomy hatchback as well as some shopping, suitable for walks in the forest etc (though we may go the route of baby sling type things if this proves too difficult) and good maneuverability of course.
Not sure whether the 3-wheeler or traditional 4-wheelers are best. What are the pros and cons?
We are hopefully going to be given a decent sum of money, which we will use part of to buy all baby's gear. But do not want to spend more then £400 on a full travel system. We want a pram/carry cot/whatever it's called, a seat that can face forwards and backwards and also a car seat ideally included. Or at least a car seat can snap onto it for ease.
When do people usually start actually looking and trying buggys? I was thinking of doing it the weekend after our 20 week scan, so in a couple of week's time.
Hope everyone is well, I find it too difficult for my 'pregnancy-brain' to remember every post, I'm sorryI'm usually really good at remembering things, but with baby on board my memory is like a sieve :rotfl:

Cat - could you send OH up to claverhouse please, parents snowed in
Hubby made Ellon and was fine then snow came on heavy and roads getting a bit iffy, he is southbound. Don't risk anything silly, Asda kirkton is a bit like a ghost town apparently, DD1 nursery near there, not that she has been since friday

Sorry ladies, haven't had time to catch up. You lot have been chatty today
We got snow and it's been chucking it down all day. Took me nearly 2 hours to get into work this morning, so hope it doesn't take as long to get home!
I hope everyone and bumps are warm and safe. Appropriate labour vibes to those in need and (((hugs))) to those feeling down.
Catch you later x0 -

I'll see what I can do;) He's hoping to get round here at some point too! Is there food in Asda?! Need bread!! My mum is insisting on coming too, however with two replacement hips she makes me a nervous wreck at the best of times - she's always falling!:eek:0 -

He didn't for me at first either - but the combination of his sneering mouth and his sarcastic voice are now all I can think aboutMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
