Americans in general are nuts. I discovery home and health alot and the american birth programs are just nuts. So medicalised, is that even a word?? Anyway I didn't utter a word in labour other than need to push and i stood up with dd1 head crowning that was it. Freaked everyone out big style. With DD2 induction so much the same and no words or sounds from me other than have to push. Neither of my babies cried at birth either so my next words were is she ok?? and my turn to freak out. :eek:MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Morning all! Hope you're not all snowed in! (one of my worries at the moment is going in to labour and being unable to get to the hospital.)
I'm now 36 weeks! Seems to be going very slowly at the moment.
I've got a scan today to see if the baby is still breech. If so, they'll refer me for ECV. I'm pretty convinced he is breech - obviously he's as stubborn as his grandmother! Still, will be nice to know how he is growing.
Garnettlady - welcome and best wishes for a safe pregnancy.
Hope your blood pressur is down RBG.
Have a good day all!0 -
Morning xx
Glad your mind has been put at rest Sarahangel.
MV - Love the nursery, looks fab!
I live in Leeds Tickle, and have never been to the German market. Every year I say I'm going but never do. Mind in this weather I aint going anywhere.
Ejecoms - Good luck with the scan, and hope the little blighter turns himself round. If not, all fours and rocking for you!:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0 -
Morning all!
MV love the nursery - looks like you have spent ages doing it. We have got the same cotbed I think!
Sarah - hope you are feeling better today and have had a good night's sleep.
Princess - Haven't seen the traffic lights but I wouldn't be surprised - I had my DS there and they were fab for the birth, but far too busy to provide the essential after care and kept us in for 4 days for tests. I am going to see about transferring to a quieter hospital after if necessary. Unfortunately I have to go there for the birth due to me having to have ventouse with DS.
Going to look into the VIt K, how terrible of me that I can't remember if DS had it?!
Well we are well and truly snowed in today - we had terrible thunder and lightning this morning to wake us up and then a blizzard like I have never seen. We always get bad snow due to being so high up, but never seen it like this. DH is contemplating stocking up the cupboards and he is not one to panic! No cars leaving our cul de sac and the police are saying do not go out unless absolutely necessary - not a chance in the car anyway! I have DH and DS at home today, luckily DH can work from home if necessary - really feel for those who can't. I sound like we are in Scandinavia!!
DH is currently brushing a foot of snow from the conservatory roof!
What is it like everywhere else?
Hope people are ok, keeping warm and not taking any uneccesary risks in this x0 -
Morning all
MV- your nursery looks great, the stickers are lovely.
Ejecoms - hope bean sorts himself out and works out where the exit is, so you can just have a lovely look at your baby.
Sarah - glad baby has started moving properly after all that, hope you got a good night's sleep.
Tickle and Hitchins - German market sounds lovely. I wanted to go to one of the real Christmas markets seeing as we're not using OH's holiday to move house any more, but he doesn't want to go abroad nowWe are going to try to think of somewhere in this country to go for a few days if the weather settles.
We had a lovely weekend - we had some friends drop in who we've not seen for over a year, and talked babies and homebirths, which was very reassuring. And my attempted-stolen car that has been sitting outside waiting for me to decide what to do with it after it got wrecked, sold on Ebay and got picked up for cash, so that's a relief too.
And finally I have a bump that looks like a baby instead of a few too many pies. It's really popped out in the last couple of weeks, although I'm still small compared to everyone else. I'm actually feeling better and more energetic now than I did in the second trimester, so I'm going to try to use this week to sort out the house and find room for my mum to stay, and find space to put a baby!
And a christmas tree. The Christmas tree is the most important bit at the moment - it's nearly time0 -
Morning ladies
Sarah that's good news about bubs, you must be a bit more reassured now!
MV lovely stickers, we chose a jungle theme with DD but the stickers we got weren't as cute as that!
RBG good luck for today, hope that BP behaves itself, it's always the one thing I stress out about but think I have it sussed now
Dipsy it is still really bad here! All the schools are closed. I didn't leave the house yesterday and DH only went out for a wee while to take DD sledging. We haven't even managed to build a snowman with her because the snow in the garden is just too deep, it would cover half her legs!
Was really peed off on Saturday when we came home, we couldn't get parked outside the house and have had to park at the very end of the street. The cars parked in front of us belong to the same household, selfish tw*ts  DH got his tuppenceworth in though when he was out clearing the path yesterday, one of the other neighbours was asking where we were parked and he told her we had to park at the very bottom of the road. She asked if he needed a hand to dig the car out and he said "no it's ok I walk to work, and I doubt my wife will be using the cars since it is parked so far away and she is nearly 5 months pregnant so is worried about having to walk all the way down to get it in case she slips, she already has had a fall!" (LOL they didn't need to know that it was not on the snow though:D). The thing is he made sure he said it in front of the people who parked in front of our house! He said they wouldn't even look at him!:T
"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Morning folks,
I'ts pretty bad here today, in fact, it's snowing as I type!!! I don't have to venture out to work until Thursday so hoping the snow will have cleared up by then!!! DH had to take my car to work this morning (4x4) as there was no way he was going to get his car out of the barn!! At least mine has a bit more of a clearance under it but it was still ploughing the snow on the drive!!! Fun to watch.
I think it is another day in the house for me and just pulled some homemade soup out of the freezer for lunch. Yummy.
We spent yesterday painting the nursery but not as far on as MV. Love the stickers!!!! We still need to get a carpet down! And there is no furniture in the house yet for the little one.
Hope everyone is okay today??
Must go and do stuff, not sure what, just stuff!!!! lol:jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0 -
Morning folks
MV - loving the nursery! Very nice.
RBG - good luck with the midwife and your meeting with your boss.
Thanks for all the lovely messages.
Bubs is fidgeting like mad now, OH went and got a takeaway last night when I got back and he has been on the wriggle since! He was still at it at 4.30am when I got up for a drink. Little monkey. Kept telling him what a naughty boy he is for worrying me like that!
Anyway, got up with the start of a cold so that explains the breathlessness I suppose so I'm having a PJ day, MIL has taken DD to school for me - she has her uses sometimes :rotfl:Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -

Fingers crossed all goes well and your blood pressure is on its way down. Amusingly this pregnancy mine keeps going down, which is why I feel so pooped all the time last time it was checked it was 96/58.
