Hi eveyone, baby Isabella Robyn born 27-11-10 at 23.24 weighing 6lb 15oz. Fab labour of only 1.5 hours - we are both doing great. :j
Yay congrats! Birth story when you're ready please? We need some good ones.

Hi all - does anyone know about possible leaking of this?

What it looks like/smells like etc?

Just found my pj bottoms are overly wet so having a minor stress out.

Going to wear a pad for an hour and check that (what i have read to do)

    Stay put baby vibes please!

How many weeks? Could be a hindwater break if its a trickle you can't control. I would ring the ward m/w and ask advice.
    Stay put baby!

  • Thank you Grateful.

I will be 34 weeks tomorrow. I couldn't feel it tricking as such, more I suddenly became aware that my pj bottoms were wet in places, and it didn't look like the usual stuff I seem to excrete on a daily basis.

    What is a hindwater break?

    Hi MV,
Have you had any more fluid/leaks?
If so I would call midwife, they could scan you and see how much amniotic fluid you have left. Also if has ruptured they could give you steroid injection to prepare baby. My DS was born nearly 33 weeks. Hope you are sitting down with your feet up. Keep us posted.
    xx
  • Its when the waters break from the end of the baby furthest from the cervix and then they trickle rather than gush.

Baby will be ok if it comes at 34 weeks I'm sure. One of my students has their mum in labour at the moment at 28 weeks, all her babies have been born at 28 weeks and all fine.

Don't want to freak you out, though. You may need to be firm with m/w as they pooh poohed me when my waters went at 38 weeks.

  • Afternoon folks

Still not happy with bubs movements, they have totally changed pattern now, so phoned hospital, they want me in especially because of my history. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that he is just being naughty!

MV, I'm not suffering as much as some with the discharge, but do find when I first get up in the morning I have a bit of a gush, I think its just gravity exerting its force. You are doing the right thing by using a pad and monitoring and do call your MW if concerned.

Sending you staying-put vibes - if bubs chooses to come he'll probably be fine - but it would be a considerable queue-jump to give birth now!

Nic my hubby is an HGV driver, tomorrow he should be up in the ellon area, his work are already saying its unlikely they will be sent out, a90 between stonehaven and laurenckirk is shut to everything but 4x4 at the moment and the snow is falling still with 25cms expected this afternoon.

  • thanks ladies. I have had the pad on for about an hour and a half now and it looks dry ATM.

I shall monitor it today and if any more happens will give the hospital a ring.

We're so not ready for bubs yet! Got a nursery that looks like a bomb has hit it, and haven't got anything ready as far as a hospital bag goes yet!

lwcus I am on strict instructions from Mr MV to take it easy today :)

Sarah hope all is well, keep us posted x

  • One other question ladies..does anyone know much about the Vit K injection, and does anyone have any strong views for or against it?

Just trying to make a few birth plan notes.
