My mum says that all the bank holidays that I miss while off on mat leave should be tagged onto my leave, i.e if I miss 6 bank holidays then I have 6 extra days of leave to take when I return? I accrue 25 days while I'm on mat leave and miss 6 bank holidays so do I have 31 days to play with when I get back?
I work for the NHS if that helps?
thanks
I'm NHS as well Dusty and checked this with my line manager recently. Unfortunately we don't accrue the bank holidays just our normal leave which is great for me as I only have 29 days to worry about when I go back rather than 37 lol...will only have about six weeks to take them in lol....ps loving the scan pic hehe
Congrats to Star and welcome to the new m2b hehe
back from the Drs....am under monitoring now for pre-eclampsia although Dr has said it might not be it at all and just a tension headache. She wants me to see the MW and then go back and see her next week as there was + protein in the wee and my blood pressure is still slightly high...not going to worry about it though, as I said to her there is every possibility it is a tension headache brought on by a nasty row I had with my sister at the weekend (if I wasn't preggers I think I might have done something I would have regretted, lol)
Anywho am here for the daythis is my second Wednesday off now and was hoping that next week's wouldn't be taken up with Drs appt but its early enough to let me enjoy the rest of my day off....off to phone maternity and see what they say lol....see you all soon xxxx

On the topic of maternity clothing, I've found New Look to be really good, I spent £30 on maternity trousers from Mothercare and you can tell they're maternity, baggy things that just don't look smart at all. Went to New Look, spent about £12 and they're fab! Defintely recommend them.
I agree with this - the over the bump ones are brilliant. Not so convinced by the under the bump though, they keep falling down.Hmmmm, it's interesting you say this because I've noticed reduced movements in the last 3 days I'd say (I'm 30 weeks tomorrow). However I've been passing the 10 movements test. Did you know the 10 movements test is supposed to be done over an hour? And they say if you don't reach the 10 in 2 hours to contact the midwife. See here for more info: http://www.countthekicks.me/HowToCounttheKicks/HowTo/tabid/64/Default.aspx
Also the kicks aren't just kicks, if you feel the swooshes or fidgeting, that counts too. Try having something cold, sit down and concentrate. I find on days where I'm busy (weekends) I don't notice the movements until I sit down and focus.
If you've got any concerns I'd go to the drop in center. I know it's the feeling of being overly paranoid, but it's better to check than not IYSWIM. Good luck x
Thanks Giz. I didn't go in the end as peanut was having a party last night so I guess he's fine! He's pretty quiet again this morning but I think this is going to be the pattern from now on. My MW told me it was 10 a day - there's no way I'm feeling 10 every two hours, even if it's just swooshes? It was way more than 10 in the day yesterday but mainly all in the evening and at night. EDIT - just read the link, I didn't realise it was a specific 2 hour period. All is well then
Congratulations to the new arrivals Ethan and Benjamin - lovely names!
I have my first NHS antenatal class tonight, a 2.5 hour breastfeeding session. Hope it's useful, I'm knackered!
On the subject of funny dreams, I had a dream last night where I had to choose between Chuck and Dan from Gossip Girl - I chose Dan ergo I am clearly a moron, I want to lick Chuck Bass...
Really stressed at work this week, maternity leave starts sooo soon and people seemed to have remembered this again and I'm getting hassle from all sides. Oh and my SPD seems to be back
Royal wedding - irrelevant to me but I must remember to tell HR that I need a new letter stating the increased amount of BHs I'm entitled to be paid for. Plus it'll be nice to have the OH at home for two 4 days periods.
Have lovely days everyone - labour vibes to those who need them!
EDIT - barring bold ladies, I'm 34th on the list. Argh!My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Congratulations Starjumper!Teenie, could I have a boy symbol if you update the list again pretty please?
Those of you with falling down maternity stuff have you checked inside in case there are buttons on elastic so you can tighten them up for now? I think most of my maternity trousers are like this, I had to be told by someone in the shop otherwise I probably wouldn't have spotted it. Am loving the comfyness of maternity clothes once I found that out
Done
Yeah i didn't realise about the buttons on my maternity trousers until near the end LOL. They are the tightest they can go but still to big!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

oxclairexo wrote: »Just a quick update after our first antenatal class last night. There were 6 couples and 2 women who came on their own. All first timers except one woman who had previously had a baby abroad. First we were split into 2 groups, men and women, and asked to talk about what we were looking forward to, what we were worried about, and what we wanted to get out of the classes. Then back into pairs for a pregnancy and birth quiz (~ 20 questions). She then showed us how the baby passes through the pelvis and spoke about ways to help the baby get into a good position for birth. Finally a 5 minute relaxation session before we all waddled off.
Good luck to our induction ladies today...v exciting...hope you're getting mummy cuddles very soon :A.
That sounds horrible to me. Hope we don't have to do any speaking or anything. The impression I got was we just sit and listen in ours, which suits me fine. I'll leave the questions to OH. I've got 2 weeks yet until my first one.
OMG I'm 30 weeks today :j Where has the time gone? I never believed anyone when they said the time would fly after the 20 week scan.
I posted on the huggies thread - but incase you didn't see - fairy you can get the coupons sent in the post.
I've signed up on behalf on hubby as I'm already registered.
