Just being nosey.

Hngrymummy - I'm a Type 2 diabetic, when I was pregnant with my DD I followed the principles of the GI diet, it really helped my sugar control.

Low GI - slow release of energy
High GI - fast release ends up in spikes and troughs and you feel rubbish.

I also ate 6 small meals a day rather than 3 large.

I kept a spreadsheet of everything I ate and my blood sugar levels so that any spikes could be cross referenced.

Even though I'm 9 days over still only 1cm dilated and not favourable for induction. Got my first pessary at 11pm and due next one at 6am.
Why are hospitals so hot? Can't sleep.

Hi girls,

OH and I went out for dinner last night - our last supper!! I tried to sleep and managed a couple of hours. Gave up in the end and came downstairs at about 4am. Got to phone the hospital at 7am to check there is room for me in antenatal to start the induction. I'm alternating between pooping my pants nervousness and being calm and normal!!

Knowing my luck they'll be busy and I won't be able to go in at all!!!

Hi Purple. Good luck. I wish I had brought a hot water bottle, so if you have one handy it might be an idea. Very sore lower back at the minute.

Thanks CL - and to you too. Are you in a delivery room yet or on an antenatal ward? - Hmmmm, hot water bottle - I don't own one! Will have to send OH out if needed. I do wish my heating would come on though so I could get ready in warmth! I've overridden the timer, turned up the thermostat but the radiators are staying quiet.

I don't think they're broken - I've obviously missed something

How pathetic am I? I just started to cry because they checked me this morning after getting a pessary last night and period type pains all night and I'm still only 1cm! Pulled myself together now and have had another pessary. I don't go to the delivery suite until I'm in active labour.

Just a quick update after our first antenatal class last night. There were 6 couples and 2 women who came on their own. All first timers except one woman who had previously had a baby abroad. First we were split into 2 groups, men and women, and asked to talk about what we were looking forward to, what we were worried about, and what we wanted to get out of the classes. Then back into pairs for a pregnancy and birth quiz (~ 20 questions). She then showed us how the baby passes through the pelvis and spoke about ways to help the baby get into a good position for birth. Finally a 5 minute relaxation session before we all waddled off.

Good luck to our induction ladies today...v exciting...hope you're getting mummy cuddles very soon :A.
