  • Finally caught up with everything that's going on. Phew!

Been feeling a bit mopey for a few days, not helped by the redundancies at work. Trying to get myself out of it though.

Anyone any advice on diet? I've not been diagnosed with GD, but I can tell that sometimes (well, quite often) I'm having too much sugar. I can also tell if I've had too much in the way of carbohydrates. Any advice on things I can eat that will help me cut down?

Bump is getting into some very strange shapes at the moment. Last night when I lay on my back it was almost flat with a huge lump on one side. At work today it was a pointy bump, with the point to one side. :D

Still getting MS, now combined with travel sickness. Yay. Eating salt and vinegar mini cheddars helped a little today though.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

Evening all! Hoping to hear some baby news soon! Good luck cl.

For everyone whose trousers keep falling down: I had the same problem (in fact so bad they fell down all the way and I was left standing in my knickers with my trousers round my ankles! I had been holding them up but had to let go in order to unlock my front door!) you can buy things a bit like braces which clip on to your bra and the trousers. I got mine off eBay and they are great. They are a brand called belly ups I think.

Just got back from a moxibustion session. I have to repeat the treatment for 4 more days, then break for 2 at which point I've got a scan. Fingers crossed it will work! Will keep you updated...

Rambo hasn't kicked yet but I'm starting to look out for it being 16+1. I guess we're all different and I never really stop to notice what's going on. We'll see if s/he likes drumming next Monday...that should wake bump!
After asking some mums at work, they said bang away as it means baby will be used to noise. I'll ask MW on 21st Dec after my scan.

My tea is roast chicken but I may be eating alone as DH hasn't rang to say he's set off yet and it takes him 45 mins to drive home. On the plus side I have emergency fries-to-go in the freezer!

My suggestion is a food diary if you really want to do something about it. You must know what is sensible and keeping a diary and just knowing you have to write in it helps you think before reaching for a chocolate bar/sweets.

It worked for me when I was trying to combat my possible IBS by healthy eating.

I'm terrible at the moment. Absolutely hooked on chocolate and milk. Already had 3 choccy bars today. And really want another :(

With regards to feeling movements, don't forget the average is about 18 - 22 weeks. But some will feel movements much earlier and people on their first baby are more likely to feel the baby later than those on their subsequent babies.

I think I was 19 weeks when I first felt baby and it was like bubbles popping inside my abdomen. Think I was about 21 weeks before it felt like real kicks.

  • Oxoclaire – that made me chuckle. Your OH sounds like a right character

Sarahangel – glad things are in perspective. You need to look after yourself and that little bean

Chakani – sorry to hear about your house. I’m useless at this sort of thing, never bought a house before. It’s rubbish that they didn’t tell you from the outset though.

Welcome my1stbaby – glad you’ve found a bump buddy in fairyshazza, she’s great J. Welcome also to neeny and roodles, glad you have decided to delurk

Fairyshazza – I was worried about the size of my bump too, it was massive last week but is smaller now, I think a lot of it is to do with first babies, I’m sure bubs has just turned or something.

Congrats on Team Blue Ema, great news, I have a feeling I am too, but obviously I will be the same as you. Imagine if we gave birth on the same day.
Congrats on Team Pink bellabear, thanks also for the link to the changing bag. I may have to treat myself

Good luck tinkwings, purple and CL on your imminent arrivals, we need baby pics. Never had one from fuzz have we? Or did I miss it?

Lillian – I did read somewhere that movements die down after 32 weeks as bubs runs out of room, I’m sure that is what is happening to you

Mollthedoll – I cannot imagine what carrying twins must be like. Double the bumps in the night. Sorry they are not being co-operative. Are you trying to find out the flavours?

Digital – this is my first and I didn’t get my first movements til I was exactly 20 weeks, it was a worry but my word bubs is making up for it now. You will feel them earlier though when it isn’t your first

Fanta – you are 16 weeks already..!!! My word that had FLOWN..!!

Well that is me all caught up. The sonographer had a nightmare getting a measurement of babies head. The little blighter was wedged right under my pelvic bone. I think he/she is still there and is currently head butting my cervix – ouch, like I’m in a day long smear – not at all pleasant.. J
  • Hi Ladies, just de-lurking to say hi. Hope all ok.

I'm still just plodding through each day, ds went to nursery as usual, so I spent most of my day sleeping or snoozing, as ds has been getting up too early, especially when I haven't been able to to get to sleep until 1, 2am each night. So today with a wicked sore throat I just helped myself physically to have a duvet day.

MW been out to me today, all ok. Today feels like an ok day, it has however been exactly a month today, which just feels like crazy, I have lived 31days of my life already without my dh, it feels like an awful thing to do, live on without him, they are all days that he hasn't been here, he doesn't know about, he doesn't know he was going to be an uncle again as my sil is pregnant, its just weird, it also feels so selfish to go forward without him. He will never know my loneliness, which I can only hope will improve at some point.

Anyway enough depressing stuff, on a pregnancy note my little one in there is fidgeting like crazy! I start ante-natal classes tomorrow, cant believe how quickly they came around I booked them months ago!

Right going to go do some nosing/surfing now. TF x
