I think maternity wear is a law unto itself really... I bought some trousers from funmum that I wish I hadn't bothered... I spend the whole time I'm wearing them constantly pulling them up... My Bjorn and me ones that come right up over my tummy are lovely...

Just dug out the support belt I had last time, it made my back feel a bit better having everything pulled in a bit...

DD1 has an after school club tonight, I told her if she didn't fancy doing it then to tell her friends mum and she'd get a lift home with her... She'd have been back by now so it looks like I'll be trekking down there at half past instead... <sigh>
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

  • wahooo normal size 14s i can do up and sit down comfortably in!! RESULT!!! better pack my bump band tho incase of icecream overload at the interval!!
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • My maternity jeans I bought were too big and I've spent the entire time wearing them hoiking them up every few metres, Even now I'm huge they a re all baggy round the bum and slide down.

On a positive note, maybe my backside hasn't increased in size!!!
  • Hey ladies,

    Hope your all well.

On the topic of maternity clothing, I've found New Look to be really good, I spent £30 on maternity trousers from Mothercare and you can tell they're maternity, baggy things that just don't look smart at all. Went to New Look, spent about £12 and they're fab! Defintely recommend them.

Had my 20 week scan last week, they asked if I wanted to know the sex (I didn't tell them we pretty much knew, just in case they said different!) and then pointed out our little girls ummmm bits! They pointed out bits I didn't think she'd even have lol :o She's looking healthy and everythings normal so far so thats good.

Nursery sorted at the weekend too, only need a few bits now, starting to panic about what I'm going to do for the next few months now!

EA are you going to Firstview for your sexing scan? They were brilliant for mine, spent loads of time trying to persuade madam to open her legs (good girl!) and then gave me loads of pics and a dvd :D

Oh, I've fallen out with peacocks :(, I went to get some cheap pj's, despite the fact I'm in size 12 maternity clothes and bump isn't THAT big, the pj's I bought were a size 16 (silly me thinking they would last for ages!), put them on later and they were very snug around the bum and legs area! Thanks peacocks!

Hope you ladies are all good and birth vibes to all that need them!

(Also congrats to all births that have happened! Sorry I've probably missed loads but theres about 50million pages to read through!)

Just wanted to add my 2 pence about maternity clothes...

Got 2 pairs of jeans for £16 each from New look, one over bump, one under bump and both are really comfy and no pulling up required. I must have had them a couple of months now, making it about week 22/23 that I bought them and I'm now week 30 and I have filled out the over bump part, remains to be seen if they'll last me to the end. At least on mat leave I can live in my joggers at home :o

I'm still in my normal t-shirts. I bought about 5 tops (snoopy t-shirts from ebay and a couple of smarter ones from M&P). The snoopy ones still have tonnes of growth in them, but I don't like wearing them because they are baggy around the bump and don't emphasize my bump! :D

  • afternoon all,

congrats to all who have had babies in the past few days

good labour vibes to all who need them

those wanting to puchase bodysuits - asda have a got a great bargain - the bodysuits which were on offer in their baby event for £5 for a pack of 3 full bodysuits or 7 shortsleeved bodysuits have been reduced to half the lowest marked price thus making them the cheapest that i have found them for at £2.50. in addition they also had other stuff reduced to half the lowest marked price so i got two sets of 2 Disney thumper bibs for £1.25 each. :T

    in other news ...

well i went for my repeat scan after going for the growth scan last week, which did not work out as the two little ones would not co - operate.

well whadayano they are still not co - operating and ar in the same position. i don't undertsand it at all - during the night or day when i have had a nap they both wriggle towards/ into my ribcage but within an hour of me getting up and about they both ssem to have dropped down - must be the laws of gravity.

I'm not worried about them not being okay as we can see hearts beating, and i can feel movements etc, but the doctors need to see that they are still growing consistently.

well i will see what the consultant says on my next hospital visit tomorrow - i am becoming somewhat of a permanent fixture there, so much so that they have offered to get me a sofa bed ;)

sorry for long post have a nice evening everyone.:)
bargain shopping is the only way to shop :j

Let me know what you think of them :)

Hugs, labour vibes, sticky vibes to all that need them - sorry I don't have much time to read back as I'm at work, but just to say that I hope everyone's OH's buck up their ideas soon!

Wondering whether to go to the MW drop in centre tomorrow, not been feeling many movements although I have felt a few - I wonder whether it's just because I'm nearly 31 weeks and he's running out of room? I've felt 4 distinct movements today, I know they say 10 a day is what you're looking for so going to keep counting. I don't have an appointment at 31 weeks because I have my placenta scan at 32 weeks - so maybe I'm just being paranoid because the gap is so long. Hmmm.
Hmmmm, it's interesting you say this because I've noticed reduced movements in the last 3 days I'd say (I'm 30 weeks tomorrow). However I've been passing the 10 movements test. Did you know the 10 movements test is supposed to be done over an hour? And they say if you don't reach the 10 in 2 hours to contact the midwife. See here for more info: http://www.countthekicks.me/HowToCounttheKicks/HowTo/tabid/64/Default.aspx
Also the kicks aren't just kicks, if you feel the swooshes or fidgeting, that counts too. Try having something cold, sit down and concentrate. I find on days where I'm busy (weekends) I don't notice the movements until I sit down and focus.

If you've got any concerns I'd go to the drop in center. I know it's the feeling of being overly paranoid, but it's better to check than not IYSWIM. Good luck x
