The loan is covered under a seperate agreement, so it should be fine as long as you're up to date with payments.0 -

Hi really new to this and have never used a forum before can't even find out how to send a new post!! I've followed the advice given by members of this forum and have requested charges back from Halifax from 2 accounts totalling approx. £1900 used the interest calculator & first letter from this site. Last week received the usual blah blah standard response letter saying NO in a nutshell going to print out and send 2nd letter just wondered how far you'd got with yours seeing as you are also a Halifax victim x0

you're on the same timescale as me then. I've opened a new account with Alliance & Leicester so if/when Halifax pay up I intend to close both my current and savings accounts with them and transfer everything over to allaince & leicester so they halifax will have lost another long term customer-I have been with them since I was a baby-24 years now.0 -
can anyone help please.........
we have sent the template letter off to the halifax claiming the charges back (plus interest) which states 14 days for them to reply.
they have replied within this timescale basically saying that they are looking into the matter and will come back to us within 4 weeks.
do we have to wait 4 weeks for further news or can we contact them again and say pay up or else we will take you to court. isnt the 4 week thing just buying time/a fob off for now tactic?
the 14 days is up on the 13th january.0 -
Thanks to people on this site and another, I managed to claim back my bank charges within a few days. Halifax did send me a nasty letter telling me that regardless what I thought about there charges It was my error that caused them. I still got £180.00 back. Another happy customerIf I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0

thanks for your help
is it worth giving them a quick call to say thanks for the letter but we will be proceeding further after the 14 days stipulated in our previous letter by placing you on notice that we will be issuing legal proceedings, in the hope that they will pay without the need for litigation?0
