Oh how I know this - Mollie will cry and moan all day with me but as soon as Daddy gets home shes all sweetness and light and full of giggles - not a moan in sight. I blame the Daddies :rotfl:

DD (5) is exactly the same, can be a little s*d for me all day but when Himself gets homes shes an angel.

I_A - Please don't stop taking the pills without talking to your doctor, there is no shame in needing them (took me long enough to realise this!) but they can really help get you back on an even keel. (((hugs)))

Lol, DS used to call me do-do (JoJo)! He often used to get confused and call the childminder 'Mum' too. So what kind of parent does that make me! :o

I remember calling my teacher mum when I was about 12 so I wouldn't take it personally lol.

Also, just an after thought (I have a lot of these  ) most of the AD's available now are not addictive.

Don't know why I posted that but I thought you might like to know.

That's true - they don't tend to make you feel like an emotionless zombie either, they just stabilise your moods so that your poor exhausted brain can start to heal itself.

  • Hi Immoral_Angeluk,
I've been following your thread for ages and don't think I've ever added any comments, I do know you've come a long way though so far! I just wanted to try and help you a bit with you PND, although I myself have not had experience of it, I work in mental health relating to pharmacy and I'm not sure if anyone has told you yet but your antidepressents will take 2 to 3 weeks to kick in so don't expect to feel better immediatly. I know your not keen on taking them but I always try to reason with my patients that why not give them a go for the 2 to 3 weeks, and give them a fair chance to work. Depending on which one you've got (cos I didn't see you mention the name) they are all about rebalancing the chemicals that make you feel down. At the moment you will be on a roundabout like other people have mentioned, there will be times when you feel really down and can't explain it and then there will be times when you feel fine and just don't know what its all about. PND is nothing to be ashamed off its just that your body has been through alot recently and its understandable that maybe its not back up to speed with all its hormones and stuff, so why not give it a help along. If in 3 to 4 weeks time you still aren't happy with the tablets then they might not be right for you, but I always try to get people to give them a chance, so by the 3 to 4 week make you'll have more "insight" into how your feeling now and will be able to hopefully look back and reflect. Hope this helps. If you want ot know anymore feel free to PM me. LG xx

Just put you on an even keel too. Please IA - if you really do want to stop taking the tablets DO speak to your GP first, please, please do not just stop taking them.

Sorry, already said by the lovely Snaggles xx

Thanks, the dr did say they'd take 2-3 weeks to work which is why he wanted to see me in 3 weeks. The one's I've got at fluoxetine 20mg... means nothing to me but I couldn't tell the difference between a smartie and a nurofen half the time.

'Lovely' Snaggles is not really so lovely today lol - sat here with everything aching, scowling at the tv and feeling guilty about the lack of housework I'm doing at the moment! But thanks :D

Did you see the photo of my bump that I uploaded the other day? I feel huge, but then everyone said my bump was little, but my 'other assets' were huge hahaha! So if you want a laugh at my expanding chest, and not-really-expanding middle, the link is here.
