You're not wrong, the fact that I put a disclaimer to show that i was in a position to advise and was shot down for that, but if I hadn't put that extra info then i would have been shot down by them saying why do I think I know better.
I am sure my post from 4 months will be dug up and quoted out of context.
There will always be disagreements and mistakes when posting on a forum, such as when I posted "under" instead of "over" in an earlier post, but I still don't understand why people feel the need to argue a point when there is no base for their argument.
In life there is always going to be somebody in a position to know better, but when I know little about a subject i will listen to those in the know. To respond in any other way just doesn't make sense.0 -

I've had a look at the Toyos... I'm a big Mich and Goodrich fan but am always open to trying different brands... Theres a Khumo I've read good things about on a Merc forum... KH31 HM... Probably end up with Pilots and I cant find anywhere online listing the Goodrich profilers in a 205/55/16
A lot of these imports are tested new against our premium brands, I don't beleive that you will get the same perfomance out of them when worn.0 -
I'm just about to switch mine to winter tyres, new Nokians, from mytryes, I was going to say they looked a good price, but they've gone up £20 a tyre from last week.
They were shipped from Germany.0 -

Ours are definitely different widths. I'm not dressed yet so I can't go out to check.0 -
I take it you know that when he joined you had to work on day work before you got on 999 work, that bloke was therefore originally emplyed, 25 years ago, as an Ambulance Driver, the grade hasn't been used for at least 15 years, and was only ever used in PTS.
And no I wouldn't know him as he hasn't worked on the road in a decade.
You and andy are the ones having a go, and when it is dished out I dish it right back.
Thias last post of yours confirms what I always suspected, you are a "google warrier". Probably because youhave little or no life experience and all your opinions are based around searching Google.
However when somebody that actually has some knowledge on a subject it puts your "Google nose" out of joint and you resort to personal attacks and the kind of posts that you have made in this thread, though if i could be bothered I am sure I could check your other posts and find similar posts elsewhere.
Bigjl, we can only take your word for what you may or may not have achieved.
You on the other hand dismiss the opinions of others immediately.
I had my first "run in" with you and another "notorious poster who goes by the name "Strider 590", on just this subject - tyres.
I made a simple comment regarding my experience with Pirelli 6000 tyres, and I was met with a torrent of ridicule from the pair of you. You both made comments which inferred that the said tyre was dangerous (Strider said OMG everyone knows that Pirellis are rubbish). You then went on to rubbish both the IAM (of which I am a member) and ROSPA, preferring your own "training".
I am by no means a "know it all", or someone who has "been there, done that, got the t shirt", I am simply an ordinary person who can judge by my own experiences.
You on the other hand, come across as arrogant, someone who believes that they are the best, most experienced driver out there, who has had the best training available, and someone who is best placed to advise on what it feels like to take a car to its limits on public roads.0 -
What is an Ambulance driver? Never heard of those, what are they exactly?
Well if you knew anything atall about how Police and Ambulance drivers are trained …….
Our course is 3 weeks long........
There seems to be people on this forum that get really narked if somebody who actually knows something post, as then the Google massive can't pretend to be knowledgeable.
Apparently I got the term “ambulance driver” from somebody that actually knows something, but has also never heard of them.
And who not only is one, but is also the boss mechanic as well.
A bit of consistency would be helpful occasionally.0 -

I didn't ridicule your opinion on P6000 tyres but most certainly didn't agree with your position that they are great, aren't you the person that misquoted me by saying I had lost control of the back end, when I said the back felt looser.
IAM training is very different to the training that I got and the Police got, of course if you believe that your training is better than good luck with that, my opinion, one shared with a lot of people with the training, ability and experience to comment also think that the IAM and Rospa bolw their own trumpet a lot and for very little reason.
Just so you know we got told in our Trust mag that we could apply for IAM membership on production of our certificate of competence.
I haven't, why should I, the IAM is nothing to do with me, just for something for Road Captains to brag about.
Don't think I called the P6000 dangerous, are you sure you aren't getting me mixed up with Strider, and to be honest I can't be bothered to look up my previous post as the only thing that concerns me about your posts is that somebody may listen to your advice and end up with a less than perfect tyre.
Remember it is you that seems unable to differentiate between different levels of grip when using different tyres, why do you seem to always having a go at those that are willing to use their knowledge and experience to advise others that are requesting information?
You don't have the slightest idea about my level driving ability is, but that fact that I have been driving at high speed in all weathers and at any time of the day for almost a decade without having an accident seems to tell me all I need to know.
Remember when driving at normal speeds you are less likely to have accidents and going through red lights against the flow of traffic is a risky thing to do and increases your chance of an accident, but then what proof is there that you are a member of IAM?
Though from what I have seen and read the assessment is only a few hours in length.
My course was 3 weeks with a total distance driven over those weeks well in excess of 2000miles, with several exams which had a pass mark of 95%.
I have nothing to prove to you or anybody, if you don't like my advice then don't read it, simples.0 -

Again I am surprised by your complete lack of ability in realising when somebody is giving a sarcastic answer.
You say you got the term from soembody who knows something, nt being funny but that bloke has been off the road for years, and funnily enough the job has changed since then, when he joined there wasn't much to it, times have changed, when he joined, as I have already said, you started off doing day work, or PTS work, then applied to sit the assessment to do 999 work after a few years.
The term Ambulance driver is ancient history and is more relevant to the private companies that employ any old monkey to do the job so as to undercut the NHS Trusts bidding for the same contracts.
As you might expect we get fed up when referred to as drivers when that takes up about 15-20% of the job, hence the use of sarcasm, which sadly you don't have the intelectual abilities to understand.
It is also getting a bit old with you quoting posts out of context, and why can you not understand the concept that people have more than one job/career in their lifetime, and that when you start on a new career you don't forget what you have learned in the previous career, and also that some people have more than one job at a time and may also do their own car repairs and maybe even work as a home trader, all whilst still holding down a full time job.
Can you explain why these concepts are so unbelievably difficult for you to grasp, and why do you go on and on about the same things.
You have already lost all credibility in the thread and possibly throughout the entire forum.
I take it you would rather be able to post drivel and that fact that somebody as more knowledge than you in a subject puts your nose out of joint somewhat.
Well here is a hint, start posting on the benfeits board as I have never claimed benefits in my life neither has anybody in my family, which means I will never be there to disagree with your point of view, thus you can post whatever drivel you feel the need to.0 -

I'm thinking the same... The price difference warrants maybe less mileage being acheived over the tyres life with the Kumho but still breaking even on a cost per mile but I want the performance throughout the life of the tyre like I've experienced with the Primacys and Goodrichs..
So I've priced the 3 this morning again and I'm going Goodrich.
Mich Primacy HP at £78
Kumho at £55
Goodrich G-Grips at £58
I've never used the G-Grips but have had excellent wear from Profiler2's in the past on the Mercedes I had... they matched everything the Pilots did. My Other Vectra is on Profiler 2s allround aswell... that fitment being based on how well they performed on the Mercedes...0 -

Aye, that bloke was you in your previous post in this thread, I even quoted it for you, and oddly enough in another thread on here you did say you're off the road.
Wasn't the benefits board, but you've been on there a lot too.
Some of what you post could be helpful, but at the end of the day, anyone can post what they want, claim what they want, but we can also believe what we read or not too. If you want to carry on, you go for. It's been entertaining, but it's not helping the op.0
