Oh think of the children!
Maybe it's a good thing that children may not be used as walking, talking gravy boats in the future? I think it's scandalous the amount of money people get just for having a child anyway! I also think a nice idea would be to not give out any benefits for children conceived when the parents were claiming benefits, and more accountability for "single" women who find themselves pregnant when they don't have a job.0 -
there were 6 of us living in a 3 bed council flat along with maw and paw - oh and a dug! lol.
maw and paw would probably have been better off claiming benefits for all of us but they both worked and both worked hard.
this was way before the days of Tax Credit etc.
IMHO the introduction of TC and WTC was a negative thing as it just encouraged the situation we are all in now!Time is the best teacherShame it kills all the students*******************************************************************************************0 -
People with no money will do desperate things.
Expect the crime rate to soar.
Oh, and less police to deal with it.0 -

But why are those half million jobs not taken? As there are some available, why don't the desperate taking them?

Yes, did you hear which company is ALLEGEDLY lined up for this nice little contract?
No, who is ALLEGEDLY lined up?[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

I totally agree with that, threads like this always lead to discussion, and not very helpful discussion at that.0
