She once told me how dirty a neighbour was and finished it off with 'I mean, she hangs knickers by the gusset'!!!

She believes that wearing PJ's for two nights running/going to bed while a teaspoon needs washing is just foul....and I love the woman X

I'm loving the differences in everyones routines and preferences for ironing etc. Me personally I would love to get the stage of Hypno and clear the ironing as it appears or even better to send it away like Macgirl but unfortunately at the moment I iron as I wear :o. I think I have pretty high standards in other areas but I didn't know we should only wear PJ's for 1 night :o anyone else? gosh I don't have enough for a pair a night..is that bad? :p

LOL! My mum meets teachers who taught us in primary and they say to her 'How's the cleanest girl in the world?' about me. The funny thing is, my sister is very messy and my brothers last house was too filthy for me to even visit.

I do wear my PJ's for more than one night KM....but she doesn't like it and stands outside the bathroom while I'm showering waiting for me to give her them out to wash when I visit!!!!

Hi Hypno - decided to join your diary - admittedly I only read the first 7 or so pages and then jumped to the recent ones. :o Bottom line you really seem to have an incredible journey and have done so well.

We live on a small holding and mud is the bane of my life. I wear new pjs every night but everymorning i go out in them and wellies (with a coat over) to feed horses and chickens lol. My poor little dog had 2 showers last sunday after we had been working out in the fields - she is fairly long haired and was filthy! Luckily she jumps in the shower (stands on a bathmat) and loves being showered and then stands good as gold to be showered. I only do her underhalf and her legs and feet. My mum lives with us and she does my ironing but I dont iron bedding or tshirts or anything else that is an underlayer and worn around the farm. Actually she only irons my work clothes lol :D

    See above.

Does anyone else remember the "how often do you wash your bedding" thread on Old Style that basically turned into a slanging match with people telling others they were dirty and unhygenic - one girl on there washed her sheets daily and was adamant that the rest of us were complete slobs for not doing the same! :rotfl:

I'll join the slovenly club too....lol

Washing sheets every day....that girl has too much time on her hands
  • Washing sheets every day  She's either bonkers or a porky pie teller

Erm don't want to get into the 'how often do you change your bedding conversation'...I don't think I'm a slob but I doubt I live up to Souks mums standards...

Oh by the way Souk your mum could never frown on me for hanging my underwear by the gussett as I shove all underwear straight in the drier..it never sees a washing line :D

LOL at all this cleaning chat. Just hoovered under the bed and off to iron. I love my time off work, but even I dont wash my sheets daily.

Even when Mum is at deaths door with her health the bed gets changed every Saturday morning. Have witnessed/assisted her huffing and puffing with pneumonia wrestling the duvet on, but there's no telling the woman!

LAM - welcome aboard! Do join in the chat - it is always good to have people keeping me on my toes.

Loving all the "slovenly" slobby talk.....for the record I change my bedding once a week when the cleaner comes (I change it, but on the day that she visits). I love that crisp new sheets feeling. BUT in years gone by when I have felt at my lowest, I didn't have the energy to even consider things like that, and I wouldn't like to guess how long those bedsheets stayed on....but I think that is a fairly common sign of depressive episodes, so I will allow myself to look back on it for what it was.

And whilst on the gusset theme - remember that you should iron your gussets to stop you getting cystitis.......

LOL Hypno. Think it's thrush actually and I read that one too but even I don't iron my knickers. Mum does though and in years gone by I have had to persuade her not to put the board up for my tiny thongs.

My brother changed the sheets in his last flat biannually....no wonder I never went in!!!
