That is precisely why I've decided to go for it, it's worth every penny. A Mum in the playground was poo-pooing the idea of ironing bedding. Each to their own I say. I can live with cleaning my own skirting boards, if it means I can say yes to having help with the ironing. As the famous ad says "Because we're worth it!"
No PM Hypno!

Morning all, Thursday already....the week is flying by!
So, from my list I have written to Barclays to ask for my cash isa to be closed and to Halifax to ask for the Childrens old accounts to be closed.....it is a start!
I'll endeavour to get another couple of things off the list today, and to resist the chocolate and sweets for another 24 hours!

Good Morning!
I've replied to your PM. Thank youMy internet threw my off last night, so apologies for not replying then.
I've got 2 bank accounts for the kids with the Halifax, so thanks for reminding me to close them. I opened them in the branch and signed all the paperwork there, then they kept sending me extra forms to fill in, which I did. Then more, which I ignored thinking the first lot would be on the system by then. They then wrote back saying they were closing the accounts to avoid risk of money laundering! What?@!? With a TENNER?!!! Bonkers, it was so tedious I totally forgot to get the money back, so will sort that this weekend.
Sorry for the massive ramble :rotfl: Right - I'll get my coat0 -
There must be gazillions of these dormant accounts about.....I certainly have a few. But by easter, there will be a few less!

Ooh Chev, how slovenly!:rotfl:
My friend is the same. Says life is too short and the heat from your body gets rid of the creases. Fair enough, I'm very much live and let live. So long as no one forces me to do something, I'm happy for everyone to do as they please
They were plenty of times I didn't iron bedding, but I so *love* getting into a freshly made bed with nice flat crisp sheets. So although I do most of the ironing, I now have some of it done! Bliss0 -
As you all know, I have had many a year when my ironing has been the bane of my life.....so it quite amazes me to think that I actually don't mind doing it now. I am hoping it is simply a sign of the fact that I am more content, and that everything is slotting into place, rather than a sign that I have become my mother :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno, in a lot of ways I HAVE become my mother, and there is no escaping that.
She is a woman who beilieves that the way that you hang out a washing tells others all they need to know about you!!!! In most ways she doesn't care what anyone thinks but cleanliness/tidiness is not one of them!
She once told me how dirty a neighbour was and finished it off with 'I mean, she hangs knickers by the gusset'!!!
She believes that wearing PJ's for two nights running/going to bed while a teaspoon needs washing is just foul....and I love the woman X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
:rotfl: Souk, thats wonderful! I doubt that even if she was stranded for weeks in the south of England, tho, that she'd ever accept my offer of a bed for the night, if thats how she views dirty teaspoons  or you, sadly - ah well, live and let live, as macgirl says :beer::beer:
Hypno - *very* good point about the dormant accounts, there are several I need to take care of.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC I'm a BIT more relaxed then her, especially about dishes but I AM the tidiest of all my friends and it IS noticed by all of them!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
