I hope you are all having a good day - rain seems to have set in for the day today, but it is not too heavy, and it is certainly not that cold, so my walk to do my shopping at lunchtime was actually nicely refreshing.
Did spend quite a bit - bought a birthday present for a friend, and bought ingredients for a paella that I am making for the girls tomorrow. I threw away many of my herbs and spices when I moved on account of not knowing just how many years they had been in the cupboard, so really had to start from scratch again today - although at least I know what I have bought is fresh (er) and will be yummy (and much fun). It was also nice trawling the market for my produce rather than doing it all at the supermarket. OK my visit to the fishmonger may have been slightly more expensive than buying frozen from Tescos but it all adds to the fun of the meal I think.
On account of my enjoying cooking, and entertaining, I have treated myself to a new cookbook called "meals in heels" which is for "dinner party divas" who want to get as much prepared in advance as they can so that they can be enjoying their cocktails with their guests rather than slaving away in the kitchen for hours while everyone else is having fun......tis my sort of book, and I just know it will be used rather a lot
Tonight I am off to see the Kings Speech with said birthday friend above, and will use clubcard vouchers to get something to eat beforehand.
