The Kings Speech was good - but I think I was expecting something even better as there had been so much hype about it.....can't quite put my finger on it, but enjoyed it all the same.
Today, I feel, will be a long one at work, so time to get my head down and just get cracking with it - but looking forward to my girlie evening tonight.
Moneywise, my "surplus" pot for the month is all but wiped out using the cash to buy my cooking stuff for this evening, plus the cinema tickets and my friend's birthday present yesterday, but as it all comes under the heading of "enjoying life" I really can't complain.
Other than that, I think everything is pretty much as it should be for this time of the month.....12 days until payday, which is not too long to wait, but will be very much appreciated when it finally does arrive!

Phew, at last I have found someone who felt the same way I did about The Kings Speech. Everyone else who has seen it loved it and I just thought it was OK. After all, we knew what the end result would be because we have heard the speech many times over the years! Also I wasn't happy about the casting of Guy Pearce playing the 'older brother' when he is clearly younger than Colin Firth! He played the role well but I just thought it was strange casting.OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

I have a wee fish man about 5 minutes walk from me. I love him!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
I love my Meals in Heels book already - there is sooo much in there that I will cook over the coming months
tenmeh - it is funny, but when I came into the office today and the girls asked me what I thought of the film, I gave my honest opinion, and they agreed with me.....yet yesterday, they were all quite non committal about it - it seems that there is this expectation of us to conform to the level of enjoyment dictated by the reviews.....and people are too afraid of looking dumb or something by having a different opinion!
Right.....off to grab a walk in the sunshine for a few mins and to see how much I can save by virtue of the fact that I don't have to buy valentines crap for anyone :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I've got 2 copies of the cookbook coming for glamorous friends who love shoes, cooking and cocktails0

:rotfl: at the Valentine's crap.. a girl in my office was going on yesterday about how she had been 'dropping hints' to her hubbie about things to buy, and how much it was going to cost them. We don't buy into Valentine's either. Dh takes massive offense that Hallmark think they need to remind him to let me know how he feels about me!
As for the King's Speech, I went the first weekend it was out. I'd read it was good, but there wasn't any hype - or Oscar noms at that point. I enjoyed it in the way I would a stroll in the park. Not the best film I've ever seen - or like the exhilaration of skiing down a black run - but it was still good0 -
I can recommend www.bookbrain.co.uk to find who is the cheapest for any book you're after

Here is a question to you, guys. And it is:
"Which one do you think is a better film, Black Swan or The King's Speech? And which one will get the Oscar for best picture?"
I think that Black Swan was a netter film but The King's Speech will still get the Oscar. Go figure!
