It really does go to show that I simply cannot afford to take my eye off the ball - even when on hols! Thank goodness I had access to the internet! People say that you should leave it all behind when you go away, but the stress this could potentially have caused me on my return home just isn't worth it! Therefore I will continue to check as often as is practically possible - even when on my travels!

But as I say, I cannot fault FD - none of this was their error, but they put it all right without any fuss at all! I can thoroughly recommend them!

I loved FD, but opened a joint account with the terrible Absurd&Ludicrous. FD didn't like me just putting salary in and taking it out the next day while having an o/d so they closed my account (fair enough). When I am DF I will go back to them, found them to be a fabby bank!

I only signed up to FD because there was a £100 sign up bonus, plus an additional "refer a friend" bonus that I picked up from the referrals board on MSE :money:

However, I have found them to be by far and away the best of the bunch.....so have stuck with them, and can't see myself going anywhere else. It is the bank I have my salary paid into and all my basic bills etc going out of - I rarely use my debit card, and just let the account run itself.....with my daily checking going on of course. If there have ever been any queries, they have been dealt with very efficiently. For example, the woman who I spoke to about half an hour ago did everything there and then, so I can now actually see my "proper" balance online....so I know there is nothing to worry about!

I am sure there are people who have complaints against them, of course they are not perfect, but compared with other institutions I have done battle with over the years, these are fab guys!!

another vote for FD here too - no pressing 1 for this etc, nice chatty people and very helpful.

they got me out of a huge hole when my CC took a payment they shouldn't have done as I had paid off the full amount - it was in the thousands and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw my balance (like you hypno i check every day, often more than once!). no charges and quickly sorted out, thank goodness!

sounds like you are having a fab holiday despite the banking numptiness! :T

Yes, ellidee, I know that Snaggles is one of them. And if all their staff are as lovely as she is, then everyone should bank with them :D

little_h - yes, holiday is good - not my usual ski holiday, but very relaxing and gratefully received!

Good to hear your holiday is going well, Hypno, and 3 cheers for online banking facilities! I was very wary of signing up for it to begin with but now I am so pleased I can switch money between accounts instantly without hassle.

Hope the puddy tat is being good for you.
