We used to do Lanarkshire to Bournemouth every year, took around 12 hours (regular vomit stops for me :o).

Watch out Hypno - George Osborne is in Switzerland, would be awful if you accidentally ran him off a mountain or something ;)

Please be skiing hear him! Please! :p

Glad you have all arrived safely - looks like a fab week ahead of you. Do I get the feeling that Miss Hypno had a touch of her mum about her. I like her more and more as I hear about her and it sounds like a lovely mother daughter relationship.

    Happy skiing!

Who said they didn't like the idea of house sitting a while ago!! Sorry I couldn't resist saying it, house sitting is brilliant, and also even when you get the occasional kitten/cat and teenager or two thrown in. Hope you have a super time :) Last time mine included the builders, and part of the roof off, but they were friends :)

ah, but these are people I have known for 10 years or so.....I wouldn't want to do it otherwise, or if it involved doing a house swap with strangers who were expecting to come into my house!

    But, point taken.....ish!!

Urg, Miss Hypno is indeed very much like her mum. Poor child.....:rotfl:

So, slept well (not surprising) and have decided to ski locally today so as to avoid doing too much more driving. Some other friends are about a couple of hours drive away, having moved out here a few months ago, so hoping to incorporate a much needed girlie catch up at some point over the week too.

Kitten photos will go up on FB later.....am sure we can manage that!

Have a good bank holiday everyone xx

Have a lovely day skiing Hypno - I'll be watching for the kitten photos on fb, the mountain ones were really spectacular. You *are* in Switzerland, yes? Not Alpine France?

Happy New Year Hypno and everyone.

We've been away to our usual NYEve haunt with friends and stayed an extra night.
Glad to see you arrived safely Hypno and in excellent tome. I don't envy you the driving though. Have a great week,

yes, KC, in Switzerland proper.....has been lovely - blue skies and sunshine. We went to a small local resort so no "tourists" - lovely and quiet, and great for me to get my ski legs back!

Tomorrow we will go further afield.....tonight's challenge though is to find a shop that sells a plug adapter as I can't charge my laptop otherwise!!! Wish me luck!!

Is it worth asking the teenager if there's a laptop or other swiss cable that you can borrow off one of their machines just to recharge it.

It sounds like you had a super day.

P.S. Our first housesitting and swapping was for family and friends too.

We have an adapter so all is well on the hypno-hols.....

Dinner cooked, all cleared away, and I am shattered! Will have an hour or so on the laptop, before heading for an early night. We are travelling further tomorrow to get some hardcore skiing in, so will be setting the alarms and getting up early.....

I hope you have all had a good day x
