Ahh bonjour!
13 hours 20 door to door, not bad, I thought.....stopped for plenty of coffee on the way, of course, but other than that no need for any major breaks in the journey.
The son of the friends who own the house is here, and used to ski with my two, so they are happily downstairs making chili and playing on whatever games console they have.....while I sit quietly upstairs with the kitten, my laptop, and a cup of decaff to work out what to do tomorrow.
I reckon this is going to be a very different break to our normal ski hols - nicely chilled, with a bit of skiing, and a bit of "space" etc.....we are v. close to Gruyere, so can explore there too. A good week is in store
Just what I need after the ups and downs of the last few weeks!!

I was pleased with that time too!
The kitten is cute......but very very pesky. Needless to say, DD will be in charge of her this week - I can hear her talking to her now! :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. mucho respect for driving all that way, Hypno. I would have kittens of a different sort if I attempted such a feat. You truly deserve your holiday and I hope it is everything that you and the children are hoping for. Just make sure you don't bring any of that pesky snow back with you!!!!0

You get a holiday in Switzerland with a kitten thrown in to boot?

Who said they didn't like the idea of house sitting a while ago!! Sorry I couldn't resist saying it, house sitting is brilliant, and also even when you get the occasional kitten/cat and teenager or two thrown in. Hope you have a super time
Last time mine included the builders, and part of the roof off, but they were friends

Enjoy your holiday, hypno, well deserved and a great way to start the year! nice one on the drive too.
I drove to Skye a couple of years ago (from Colchester) with my ex for a holiday, and that took us around 13 hours too (with v brief lunch and supermarket stops!) - amazing to think!0 -
