So do you actually own the land? and you don't need fences to protect your property, a couple of posts with a chain normally will do
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Sounds a good idea I'll give it some thought.

    Hi all.
DJ Dave how did you get one with your request ?
I've never heard from them since, but you mention that you made your request in November and only just got a reply, so maybe I'll get lucky :D

PS, is it possible you can scan and post your letter (with personal details removed) for inclusion on the "what to expect" thread?

Why do you think this is OK ? Just wondering, as I occasionally get people parking on my private land, when challenged they are invariably only going to be a couple of minutes.

When I offer to rent them my land or even sell it to them they seem to think "I have a problem" which of course I do.

Climb down off your high horse! ;)

My partner works there and has a pass allowing her to park. On the day in question I picked her up from work in my vehicle, and was parked outside the building for literally three or four minutes - as were dozens of other vehicles picking up workers.

If I'd taken up somebody's parking space, or caused an obstruction, or failed to pay a parking charge then I might have some sympathy with the landowner, but a £60 charge is still massively disproportionate considering I didn't deprive them of any revenue.
What would you do if on your return home you found someone parked on your drive for a couple of minutes ?

For a couple of minutes? I'd politely and firmly ask them to move, not issue them with a totally unenforcable invoice.

Few people park on driveways because it causes an obstruction. Similarly people don't usually park horizontally across the entrance to Tesco.
  • dj dave - here is a link to the latest letter from GRAHAM WHITE / ROXBURGHE

Ill ignore as everyone advises -
its not surprising how people pay up is it with rip of Britain allowing these scammers to do this to people making them worry for nothing. Shame.

Apologies for bumping my old thread, but I thought I'd let you know that 8 months (!) later I still haven't heard a thing from these jokers. Anybody else who finds themselves with a "ticket" from this outfit should take comfort that they don't seem to follow their threats up with any actual action. :)

Thanks for confirming, the threats are just that!
  • The above firm are issuing tickets on Old Medlock Street off Liverpool road. This at first glance appears to be a public highway, it has an official road name plate on the building to the right , which where incidently is affixed a small parking notice stating you need a permit. There is no sign on the left hand side of the road. Enquiries reveal that someone applied for a "stopping up order" from the council in 1994 and this was granted. So it is no longer a "highway" but private property. I assume when it reverted to private property the owners would be the property on the left and right of the road owning up to the middle of it. ie 2 owners. The building on the right is empty and was used by The shopkeepers agency which went into liquidation. The building on the left is flats. I have tried to get the road nameplate removed by the council as it infers the property is still a highway but they say they will have to permission from the owners. I am awaiting a reply under the freedom of information act as to whom applied for the stopping up order and will update asap.
