There is no set day for them to arrive, just go with whatever works for you! We are doing ours for the 1st as it what we did last year and he arrived with their advent calendars! We will be doing the same again this year as we normally put our tree up the first weekend of December and this year the 1st falls on a Saturday! But if your children are use to him arriving mid month then go for that!
We don't do activities every day with him, 3/4 of the time it's just his antics at night and the kids love this, this year I'm incorporating the panto tickets (couldn't do this last year as the kids already knew they were going) the cinema, again I didn't think of incorporating it last year and a few other Christmas treats but until I've decided what they are I can't plan how to include it!~ What's for you, won't go past you! ~0 -

Thank you Kez-s and Yummy-mummy-amy.
Been away last week (half term) and kids school on a training day today. Survived chemo 6 but been more tired - hope to get energy to hit shops. Desperate to get out to some shops without kids in tow to finish stocking fillers and get some elf related stuff! (Got some in sales in January from Lakeland and Cancer research - little did I know - make your own Xmas decorations wooden angels etc).
Ours usually arrive via the Xmas tree which until last year was after the 7th Dec (DHs birthday) but last year arrived with the advent calendar. Usually with work we were too busy to decorate tree straight away - so elves always help out with family knickers and toilet roll etc. I am keen to try out the map highlighting very xmassy houses and having a night drive in pyjamas and with fleece with flask of hot chocolate.
We did the cover the bedroom door with xmas wrapping paper last year - it was so funny! Wrapping friends pyjamas in wrapping paper if they come for a sleepover also a good one.
I am not very techie but will look into getting our elves their own facebook page over next couple of weeks.
Anyhow hugs to those who need it and thanks for all the great ideas on here.

Over the weekend we used the magical mystical fire (available from ebay) in our firepit and it was fab. Turned the flames into a wonder of different colours which lasted for about an hour. whilst we were marveling at the effect it occurred to me that if you had a log fire in your home you could put these in the fire and say it is elf magic. :xmassmile
Wow, I love this idea!!!
I've searched for 'magical mystery fire' on ebay and it's not coming up with anything!
Could you post a link please? x0 -

Pinknfluffy my elf arrives a day or two before 1st Dec and has an advent calendar with him. To help fill in the days we use the Cadbury Elves chocolate bars and also use "tasks" such as sort out toys to take to the charity shop.
We don't have an open fire but I've bought a shower head which changes colour with the temperature from our elf!0 -

Hi
I got it on amazon, it does depend on your shower pressure but mines working fine. Just type in changing colour shower heads and they all come up. I also bought today in the entertainer candles which when lit stay the colour of the candle. THere are 12 in the box They were £2. I will prob bake or buy a cake put candles on and leave it from our elf! Xx0 -
Hi, is anyone interested in doing an elf christmas card swap this year? If you want to take part pls pm me your address and elves name/s. I will then pm each person back with 2 or 3 elf names & addressess. If we can all post out 1st week in december 1st class, then our elves can receive cards from their friends! we did this last year, just amongst 4 of us, but it was a lovely little touch & kids thought it was wonderful to read about what jingles & belles elfy friends had been getting upto!!!It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0
