I have just found this and I love the idea. I have 2 children who will be 8 and 1 at Christmas trying to find things for them both to enjoy of Christmas is very difficult!

I think they will both love this though! We are going to on holiday to Germany the first week of December and are elf will be will be waiting for them to come home.

This year were just having the one elf and as my DS gets older we may get a second.

Spent the morning making our elves bag. Attempt number two will be slightly different and i most probably will change the red and green string for some ribbon.

i can sympathsie with you i have a 9, 7 and 3 yr old, so theres certain thing lil 1 cant do that big can etc. BUT if you find simple things, like dvds and colouring pages, crafts etc then both can do them.

  • Hurrah! Glad to see this thread kicking around still. I am off work poorly and dreaming of chritsmas elf time! It will be our 3rd year this year and I am very excited, I started teaching last year so was too busy to give it my all but now Im in the swing of things I'm looking forward to going mad with it!! My son got a build-a-bear teddy for his birthday this year in August so we have lots fo mini things kicking about which is a bonus. I have been looking at the 100 elf ideas blog and its brilliant!

Have also pre-ordered the elf on the shelf dvd:j

    Let the preaprations commence!!

  • another amazing week in elf land! hb had some little make a mini bear kits and clothes. i got a pinstripe suit and a silver ball gown, tried them on jingles and belle and they fit just right. these will be great to dress them in on the day of the christingle service! our youngest was ever so upset last year because they only had one set of clothes, so im also on the look out for pjs, coats & wellies in little bear/elf size. if anyone sees anything, let me know please xx

Hi, what size elves have you got? Mine have just been delivered today and I love them! They're the aurora girl and boy elves.

I've just got some magic snow from home bargains, it was £1 and when you add water it expands to 100 times its original size so I'm going to put it in a tub or baby bath and sit the elves in so they look like they're having a snow bath. Probably put shower caps on them etc. I've also done a treasure hunt, printed the clues off with a christmassy border and laminated them. I got some lovely mini christmas buckets from The Range and at each clue there will be a chocolate coin to put in their bucket and at the end a certificate telling them they've been placed on the nice list! (hopefully..;)) I'll do the treasure hunt on xmas eve. I'm trying to get everything prepared asap cos I've got a lot on with college, work etc so can't leave everything til last minute.

i got my elves off ebay 4 year ago, think they cost me £15 inc postage for both, theyre 18" long and proper rag-doll type! I love the expanding snow bath idea, gonna have to take another trip to hb this week. like you i prepare early for their visit, this year ive even drawn up a spreadsheet and planned what theyre doing each day (they arrive dec 10th). this year dh has even agreed they can paint his nails, as long as its not a work day lol
