Hi, what size elves have you got? Mine have just been delivered today and I love them! They're the aurora girl and boy elves.
I've just got some magic snow from home bargains, it was £1 and when you add water it expands to 100 times its original size so I'm going to put it in a tub or baby bath and sit the elves in so they look like they're having a snow bath. Probably put shower caps on them etc. I've also done a treasure hunt, printed the clues off with a christmassy border and laminated them. I got some lovely mini christmas buckets from The Range and at each clue there will be a chocolate coin to put in their bucket and at the end a certificate telling them they've been placed on the nice list! (hopefully..;)) I'll do the treasure hunt on xmas eve. I'm trying to get everything prepared asap cos I've got a lot on with college, work etc so can't leave everything til last minute.
i got my elves off ebay 4 year ago, think they cost me £15 inc postage for both, theyre 18" long and proper rag-doll type! I love the expanding snow bath idea, gonna have to take another trip to hb this week. like you i prepare early for their visit, this year ive even drawn up a spreadsheet and planned what theyre doing each day (they arrive dec 10th). this year dh has even agreed they can paint his nails, as long as its not a work day lolIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -

Hello have just found this thread on MSE and hope to be a regular if thats ok. I think you are right yummy mummy. We have 2 elf's who have visited us for the last 3 yers - Galdor and Blinky. This is the first year my children declared (very early on - Feb time) that they do not believe in Santa and that they 'know' its us. I was dispirited that this happened with both DD (8) and DS (10)- thought DD had another year to go.
Anyhow its been a difficult year (long story) but was delighted to hear DD ask in hesitant voice last week - "Will the elves still be coming this year Mummy .......?" Gave it my sternist - well if there is no santa how can he send them to keep a eye on you..". But they obviously want this tradition to carry on. Was beginning to run out of ideas but think this thread will be a godsend, but will take me time to catch up on posts....... Won't be able to post much in next week as I have my final chemo on Thursday (last of 6):j
Can anyone help with a Passport I can add typing to? They have had the same one for the past 3 years which I got from organised christmas but I had to handwrite it (I am not very techie ) but I could not get anything to insert to master document. Sorry if this has been posted earlier -but I had best turn in for the night - I will catch up eventually. Hope someone can help - and how nice to see fellow users! Everyone seems so nice on here.
Must say we are more careful with the coloured milk - our first attempt at blue milk - didn't go very blue at first so we added some more food colouring. DD wee was green the next day - lesson learnt..!:rotfl:0 -

This weekend I got a Christmas puzzle from the entertainer for my great niece and I have only just noticed that the picture has loads of elves on it. It is only any good if you have little ones as it is for age 3+ but quite a bargain at under £2.
Can't seem to find it online, so only useful if you have a store near you.0 -

Hi - if you have a look on the Let it snow - Christmas chatter thread I am sure someone has posted copies of their passports, if you can't find them I have no doubt that if you mention it they will post them again for you!
There are hundreds of ideas that you can do with your elves on here and if you "google" it, we did one that actually was green wee, so yours was spot on - ha ha, we added green food colouring to the toilet water and left our elf Joe by the toilet, the kids thought it was very funny!
If you've not had your chemo yet I hope it's goes well for you, and if you have, I really hope you're feeling ok and hopefully we'll see you back on here when you feel well enough!~ What's for you, won't go past you! ~0 -
ooo i want an elf to come and stay this year!
i hope this thread gets busy again with people updating what their elfs are getting up to so it helps me with more ideas about what he can get up too. iv jus wrote out a long list from all the ideas and want to get my DH to have a read so he can join in the fun.
not long now until they'l be arriving, best start getting organised...0 -
what date do you have your elfs arrive? im thinking they could bring the advent calander dh has made on dec 1st this year, but that means i have to think up more activities for them, as they dont usually arrive until 10th-12th dec. i have a few ideas, nativity cinema trip & the xmas eve hamper are my main spends for this year, im hoping to pick up a few more cheap craft activities for them to bring as dd's love the little gifts! we have about exhausted all the hiding places in our home, so need to come up with some new no-cost mischeif things! its getting close now & im loosing the enthusiasm of planning for their stay, but to my dd's i think the elfs are what really make xmas special so i need to make sure they dont dissapoint! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0

Hi
Over the weekend we used the magical mystical fire (available from ebay) in our firepit and it was fab. Turned the flames into a wonder of different colours which lasted for about an hour. whilst we were marveling at the effect it occurred to me that if you had a log fire in your home you could put these in the fire and say it is elf magic. :xmassmile
Pinknfluffy my elf arrives a day or two before 1st Dec and has an advent calendar with him. To help fill in the days we use the Cadbury Elves chocolate bars and also use "tasks" such as sort out toys to take to the charity shop.0
