  • thank you sooo much!!! youve been a great help! that website is brilliant.

where would be the best place to get an elf from? is it too early? should i wait untill stores start getting xmas stuff in? ive found a few on ebay, but theres not many.

The sooner you can get an elf the better. Once the christmas stuff start to appear in the shops the quicker these little guys get snapped up.. heres a few places you can get them

christopher pop-in-kins.. a very nice looking poseable elf who comes with a book... for those who still haven't got an elf. which is on offer here.... (this one is gorgeous! mind arrived yesterday and i'd recommend him over and over, just hope i can get the girl version at some point)

i've not read the elf on the shelf book but i've seen the movie and theres a girl elf in that.. i think the skirts are white with red bits in, could always knit up a barbie skirt or even get a cut off of material and make a simple skirt up for it.. But i agree bit weird they don't come with the skirt isf thats the case

Is that the DVD that goes with the book "elf on the shelf"? I was looking at it the other day but I don't think you can get it in the UK..... I would imagine she has to come with the skirt in order to make it a "girl" elf but just the picture says otherwise! Might wait until the date it's available and see what exactly you get!

Dark Star - Thank you so much, i have just logged on to try and hunt for this thread and there it was right at the top!!! :j

I have just bought the adopt a herd of reindeers posted on here from Amazon as a gift from Rudi Gingersnap for our littlies and starting to think up plans for her visit.

Rudi has just set up her facebook page (set up as a fictional carachter) so needs other elves to 'like' her page because she cant make friends as such!! - she looks forward to chatting with other elves about their plans!!

  • i have just found this thread and it sounds like really good fun, id like to join if thats ok? i do have a few questions though...i have read through some of the posts but theres soooo many!

i have a boy (nearly 6) and a girl (2) so would i need to buy them an elf each? wheres the best place to get them from as cheap as possible?

when does the elf actually come? is it the beginning of dec? also, how would you explain it all to the kids? how the elf got here, and why hes here. also all the activities listed on page 1, are they ideas you do everyday?

i read about the elf passports, how would i go about getting one of them?

sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any replies :)

there is no set rules for this - you can have as many elves as you - 1 for the family, 1 each etc. yes the tradtion started off by moving it but my kids would find that boring every day so i add mischief - see 1st page as do alot of people, you do as much or as little as you want for your family.

i was quite lucky my son asked me for an elf to come and stay so i didnt have to explain much.

page 1 has lots of info and sites etc, that would be your best bet. depending on what type you want ebay, amazon, dragon alley etc all sell different types of elf. i have a 7-dwarf made xmasy, a fair trade rag doll and 2 aurora rag dolls!

passports i made them for many people last yyear.

if you google magical elf there are loads of sites, blogs, photos etc.

****please be aware*** many elf facebook pages (including 1 of my 4) have been closed down by facebook for not being real people.

Good Afternoon all, looking forward to Rudi Gingersnap making her appearence for her second year!!
Rudi has a 'fictional carachter' page on facebook but as yet only has one 'liker', it would be great for her to have some facebook friends before she visits us again!!
