So I've had one of my silly moments... ( I'm sure I'm hormonal!lol) and decided I don't like my little home made elf and I'm not sure the kids will be convinced by him either. So I have in a fit of panic bought a new more convincinging (lol) elf who will hopefully be here in time for after school monday, which is ok as the kids are at their dads this weekend so won't miss out on too many hijinx. However because I wanted the elf to give them their advent calendars today, I was debating getting oh to knock on the front door, with the advent calendars there with the note from santa, but having a bit in the note about how you can't always see him iyswim. Then getting up to some mess before school in the morning, and then hopefully he will be here for when they arrive after school monday.
I was thinking changing their bedding would be a good trick for Elfis to play tonight, might need a trip to matalan0 -
We use Maileg Pixys/Gnomes.
In our family you get an elf the first Christmas after your third birthday (because your a bug boy/girl at nursery), so babygirl got her elf "Ingrid" and my sons elf "Søren" joined us.
Our elves right all notes backwards, and arrived with advent calendars today.
They were so excited !!!
I'm going to enjoy this years elfing.
It's the first Christmas after my separation and it's been my happiest in years !
Bring on the mischief0 -
Peppy Mistletoe arrived this evening with his suitcase full of bits and bobs. After a false start (DH rang doorbell but forgot to put elf there...I mean how hard does it get???), the three youngest were very amused to find an elf on the doorstep. So far I think they think someone is playing a joke on us, and that he's not a REAL magic elf. Oh, this is going to be fun:)0

Rudi Gingersnap arrived after our visit to Santa at Centre Parcs, while we were there she ate grandads Pringles (what a mess but she had the decency to wear a bib), pinched and sat in the girls jingly hats, ate out of a tin of Quality streets with wrappers all over her (my jaws ached!!).
Since we got home she has coloured a lovely picture, Visited my eldest daughters school during a visit from an ambulance paramedic (she had her pic taken in the ambulance - hubby was the paramedic).
My younger daughter has been off nursery this week for building repairs, goes back today, i have ready pictures of a visit to nursery waiting for tonight when they get home!
Right now she is sledging on an advent calander over packing foam.
I also posted her a letter from santa containing photos of her antics while we were away - just waiting for the postie).
Thanks so much for this thread, i am having great fun and feel i should be about 12!!0 -
Children came downstairs to find Peppy Mistletoe reading christmas stories to lots of their teddies. NOW they are starting to believe :rotfl: Ds (5) decided the elf must be like the toys on toy story who come to life when the people are not around. Dd (12) said open mouthed "so he IS magic!"
Elf already coming in very handy as a behaviour management tool. Me to ds "come and get washed and dressed". Ds (accompanied by much moaning and groaning) "no I'm watching scooby doo". Me "careful the elf will hear you". Ds "I'm coming mum!" :j0 -

I use the elf for good beahviour too!lol
Yesterday when the kids came home from school they had a question in the elf journal from the elves asking where all of their Christmas decorations were and the kids explained they were in the loft and this morning they came down to the house done in Halloween decorations! :rotfl: The kids laughed and laughed after they read in the elf journal that although the elves thought these were a bit odd decorations for Christmas it still makes the room look more festive than it already was. They pulled out the wrong bag of decorations.;) I have already promised we will do them this weekend so the elves won't try again.:p

Well Binky arrived yesterday at 6pm. At first my 2 dd were not too sure about him but they soon picked him up. It was funny as they decided to give him a guided tour of the house and told Binky where the toilet was so that he didn't have any accidents
Binky used his magic wand and they had a Lindt small teddy left in their PJ's which they thought was great. Not much elf mischief happened last night as he was tired.
Tonight he is dressing up in hat, scarfs, gloves etc. Their presents today are dressing up bracelets and rings.
Love hearing what your elves are up to.

Elf arrived yesterday morning wit his suitcase and advent calendar for DS, DS ~(3) was not too impressed by him but this morning when we got up Twinkle had left him the Wii Christmas games and has been hiding around the Living Room when hes not looking! My elf doesnt have a journal as yet as DS has a short attention span and wont sit and listen to what I read to him, maybe next year!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!
