    Good Morning

Yesterday was a lovely, productive day - most of the jobs were done.

Not much planned for today just need to finish the ironing and pop to Mr S for some salad stuff for our BBQ this evening :j

I'm planning on having a shuffle round of summer clothes now that the decent weather has arrived, might by time to bin a few drab, dull items and only buy bright clothes from now on :D

DH has been looking at suits so need to keep a close rein on the budget for July as he needs new shirts as well :(

No further on with booking a summer holiday - waiting for a bargain!

    Best get on xx
  • are you planning on going anywhere nice for your holiday?

I also went through my wardrobe a few months ago, i got rid of loads of black, grey and brown stuff.......but slowly it seems to be creeping back in lol, my summer wardrobe is bright and winter is just dull, dull, dull lol

    Good Evening

DFW - nowhere specific in mind - wherevers a bargain sounds good!
    Mummy- I know, bless him!

Well I'm melting at the moment, I could do with the temperature to be 24-25 degrees, mustn't moan though as 6 months today is Boxing Day and we'll all be freezing :rotfl:

The bbq was good, just needed to buy salad leaves as we had meat in the freezer so just boiled some new potatoes, made a quick green salad and whipped up a quick chickpea, sundried tom, roasted pepper and shallot salad with balsamic vinegar and it was yum!

Could only manage one beer though :(

    Good Morning

Another hot, sunny day is forecast :)

I managed to not melt whilst drying and straightening my hair this morning, dressed in a really summery dress and tried to make more of an effort with accessories and make up so can hopefully manage to stay semi glam today :)

Not much MSE is happening, finances haven't been looked at for July yet so will probably get those done tonight.

I'm toying with the idea of starting a new diary as its a new chapter in Choogirl life so might be nice to start a new diary with only lovely, positivity going on. I need a fab title and thought about using the new diary to set some targets, daily spends, grocery spending etc.

Right back to my work :)

  • oooh a new diary-to-be - how exciting! sounds like it could be a great thing, lots of positivity now you have finished your exams and so much has changed for you :)

hope your headache cleared. I hate Starbucks coffee, hate hate hate it. I always really look forward to a Costa and then when I go past one, can't bear to part with £3 for a coffee! :rotfl: MSE through and through now!! :money:

we call Starbucks "Bigbucks" at work, had a big overhead reduction drive a few years ago and one team had "Starbucks, Bigbucks" as their mantra - really worked as the bulk of their expenses were coffee/cakes for meetings!

I couldn't even face the hairdryer this morning - I dried and straightened my fringe but have let the curls do their worst on the rest!

I'm quite excited at the thought of starting a new diary, need to get it all thought out though before I just wade in.

Thank you, the headache did clear up and its really put me off Bigbucks, I like Costa so might try there next time, Cafe Nero coffee gives me headaches as well :( It might save me some money as well if Costa gives me a headache, not that I visit any coffee place much anyway.
Hairdryer was fine this morning, its always the straighteners that get me hot. I think I make myself hot just stressing out about having straight hair :rotfl:

Got in from work and my Good Food magazine was waiting for me so I shall be having a flick through that tonight :j

Its too hot to do anything so I've had a CBA half hour and now I really CBA to even get any dinner ready. Even the cat is having a CBA afternoon and is laid behind the sofa snoring :rotfl:

Really need to get our finances sorted out for July this evening just so that I can keep a grip on where we are and start to make plans. Unfortunately I think most of this months surplus is going to be swallowed up by DH new suits and shirts :(

I'm out on Friday night, having a catch up with some friends. It should be a good night - meal and drinks. Then on Saturday night DH and I are having a night out so MIL is babysitting :j

Not much else to report, could do with a swimming pool in the back garden!

    Good Afternoon

Just having a quick catch up in between working :o

The July budget was sorted out last night and as predicted most of the surplus has been swallowed up by DH needing new suits and shirts, at least the money is there to cover it so all is well.

I have also worked out how much our "cheap" break to Legoland is going to cost us
I have never worked out the full cost of a break before, I used to just budget for the hotel cost and then wing the rest of it, hmmmmm!!! I have budgetted for breakfasts, lunches, dinners, train tickets to London, petrol and misc spends and its  Luckily I have enough clubcard vouchers to cover the park tickets and maybe one meal. So we're going to save half towards it this month and half next month :T
Its a new revelation - working out a budget before the money is spent, rather than worrying about it at the time and paying for it afterwards - I LOVE IT, its about being in control.

Overspending on grocery shopping didn't help either last month, it all has to come out of the monthly surplus so again this needs to be controlled.
Last week I took cash out before I started my shopping, stuck to the list and I didn't overspend so i think this is probably the best tactic for me :j Plus if theres any leftover cash this will be put into my moneybox :T so its a big incentive not to overspend :rotfl:

Think thats about it from me, catch up soon xxx
