Thank you DFW, I always feel guilty unifrom shopping before the poor little mites have broken up but its easier to do it now rather than in the holidays with them moaning about it!0 -
Good Morning
Where has the weekend gone?
Carpet shopping was not a big success, both kids ended up whinging, whining and generally been real pains in the butt so they will be shipped off to Grandmas next time.
DH and I had a lovely time on Saturday night, we drove out to a local country pub and had a meal, DH had a few drinks and I drove so we didn't spend alot of money. Its great to be able to spend time together without constantly been interrupted by a small child who always wants to know what we're talking about.
I am sooo tired though, 2 nights out don't really do me alot of good. I was in bed for 10pm last night but didn't sleep too well with been hot and something was bothering me but I don't know what.
After the school holidays I really do need to get myself better organised on a morning, this morning I was up at 7am, still had to finish making the pack ups, unpack the dishwasher, make breakfast and write a cheque out for a school trip! At least all the school uniform was ironed but all the ironing was in the dining room so I ended up having an argument with DS at 8am this morning about where his jumper was.
I'm going to pop to M&S at lunchtime and see if there are any school jumpers for DS and look to see if there's anything decent to buy in the sale.
Right back to work, catch up soon xxx0 -
Good Morning
Another busy day ahead and the weather has cooled right down, might sleep abit better tonight. I was up twice in the night - I needed the loo and then DD needed the loo, it was hot, DH was ferretting around and grumbling so it wasn't a very restful night
I've brought a pasta, tuna salad into work today, the cat was very appreciative of me opening a tin of tuna this morning so he had a spoonful and the juice and he was a happy boy this morning
I've done my shopping list for Mr S and will be visiting after work, I have a £9 voucher off a £60 shop so pleased with that.
The fruit bowl was looking abit bare this morning so I popped into M&S on my way into work and bought myself a nice banana and pear for my snack :T Yesterday I was craving chocolate but resisted the Office Managers offer at lunchtime to get me some.
I've even walked past Mons**n this morning, even though they're having a half price sale. DD doesn't need anything and I don't so not much point looking! I'll only spend money if I go in and I don't have any to spend.
I need to look at the finances tonight to make sure that we are on track for this month, but first I have to tackle DDs cupboard in her bedroom which is a complete tip  Theres always a job to be done!
Its The Apprentice tonight, so everything must be done by 9pm as come 10pm I intend to be tucked up in bed :rotfl:
Right back to work xxx0 -
well done on walking straight past mons*on
it's so hard to walk past a fav shop esp when they are on sale! Hence the reason i rarely go to town anymore lol- can't trust myself!
You got me thinking about uniforms last night so i have started on a list of what ds1 needs to go back to school with in sept. thing is i'm worried he might have a huge growth spurt in the summer (this is when he usually has them) so daren't buy things like shoes/trainers & trousers! Shirts are fine from last yr (i always buy big lol) and so are blazer, jumpers etc. I suppose i could make a start by buying socks :P and wait for the rest until mid august....?!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. It is hard walking past shops where theres bargains to be had - but a bargains only a bargain if you need it :rotfl:
I'm always reluctant to buy trousers as well so just tend to buy those at the last minute. I just hate having to rummage through whats leftover and then getting frustrated having to trawl round different places with the kids in tow. DS had new shoes the other week so these should be fine unless he has a massive growth spurt, however they were only a tenner from Clarks outlet so not overly concerned if I have to buy new ones for September but its highly unlikely I'll need to.0 -
Good Evening
The spreadsheets are reconciled back to the bank and everything is still looking good
Mr S shopping came in under budget, I used my £9 voucher and a few others that I found lurking in my handbag.
Managed to get the washing out on the line when I got in from work, avoiding the showers and its now dry. I've got an ironing evening ahead of me tomorrow night though
DDs bedroom cupboard is now tidy and she's been warned not to mess it all up again!
Right time for bed I think. The cat has just had a snuggle on my knee - I think he felt guilty for savaging me earlier, blooming cat should remember who feeds him and gives him little tuna and cheese treats :rotfl:

Good Morning
Oh dear I'm not posting as regularly as I used to, I just think I post a load of boring, mundane stuff alot of the time.
The weekend has flown past in a haze of quotes been received from decorators and haggling with them to get a better price. DH cringes when I start "negotiations" with them, but its definitely worth it. If you don't ask - you don't get. I do feel abit cheeky at times though, I have negotiated a better deal with the decorator at a reduced price and asking him to do a little more work but now I'm going to be a tiny bit more cheekier and ask him if he can get discount on wallpaper and paint from anywhere! Its worth a try.
I've ordered some school uniform from M&S through Quidco and got 20% discount and free delivery to store. I ordered
3 DS jumpers
3 DS PE T-shirts
3 DS PE shorts
3 DD tights
In all its cost £28.80, not too bad. I've got both the kids 3 jumpers/cardigans as I am fed up with the Monday morning argument of wheres my jumper. They can wear 2 each week and then wear the spare clean one on a Monday morning whilst the others are being washed, ironed and aired.
Not much else to report - just the usual Monday morning drudge of work. The kids have both got Sports day this week so I've asked them to bring their PE kits home so I can replace them with clean ones so that they'll look tidy in front of all the other parents. Theres nothing worse than a crumpled child :rotfl:
Just this week and next week on full time hours and pay and then its back to part time. I think childcare is all sorted for the holidays. DH and I have both got 2 weeks off over the holidays so only had 4 weeks to sort out.
Not much exciting is planned for this evening - catching up with the mountain of ironing!
Think thats all from me xxx0
