Good Evening
I've had a really good day at work, I've finished a big piece of work that I was really behind on and made a start on the next project so feel alot happier and more motivated than I have done in a long time.
My boss has also asked if I'll work some extra hours once my exams are over so I've jumped at the chance. The money can be spent on tidying the hall and stairs up, hopefully there will be enough money to pay a decorator to do it for us as neither DH or I are very enthusiastic about decorating. Not very MSE but the moneys an extra and isn't adding to debt so I've justified it to myself.
I've been super-organised tonight and got the pack ups more or less sorted for the morning so hopefully there will be less stress in the morning and all the washing has been put away.
The child benefit got paid into our account this morning so we've just about limped to pay day and stiayed in the black0 -
Morning choo, great news about the extra hours and i think you have been working really hard so you deserve a treat and someone coming in a sprucing up the hall is a great idea.
I also recieved child ben today, good job as a cheque went out today that i thought would take longer to clear, can also get a top up shop that will see me till payday.0 -
i'll put my hands up to relying on my child benefit this week too lol, I had a dd come out that i had completely forgotten about -even with all my spreadsheets lol- so it's just about covered it *phew*!
and YEY to the over time, I don't blame you for using the money for doing up the house, I think i'd do the same!

choogirl I think a decorator is a great use of your overtime money - at the end of the day you are paying for your time back. If you have worked for the money and can do other more lovely things with the time, and enjoy the improved environment then I think you can't lose really! good luck!0

Yay to the extra hours at work Choo, I defo think sprucing up the hall way is a good idea with it being separate money :T.
I was just saying in my diary its the first month ive had money in the run up to pay day! Might only be £8 but its £8 more than last month :rotfl:!!!Mummytogirls x0 -
Thanks for the input ladies, I am definitely going to spend the money on the hall, will see how far the money will stretch but hopefully should get everything done that needs doing. I just need to earn it now.
Well so much for a stress free start to the morning. I'd just sat down to have my breakfast this morning when all hell let loose from my little darlings. They were arguing about who should be charging their DS up first.
ARRRGGGH - we have more than I charger for their DS's but neither of them could be bothered to look so I left them arguing and went to sit somewhere else.
It was eventually resolved by DS stropping off and sulking in his bedroom (typical male) whilst DD made the most of it and got her DS on charge!
Is it really holidays again next week - mmm will Ebay take small, argumentitive, stroppy children I wonder? :rotfl:
They will be sold on the understanding that its on a strictly non returnable basis.
I've had a good, productive morning so far but did get momentarily distracted by looking at maxi dresses online! However at the moment I'm back in workwear of trousers and a jumper so not much point buying summer dresses.
I might wander to M&S at lunchtime and see if I can get DD a new skirt as most of her summer ones have now become indecent. I have my £10 voucher to spend so can put that towards one.
Thats about it from me xx0 -
Good Morning
I had a look in M&S yesterday and nothing caught my eye for DD so I ended up going to Mr S who have a 25% sale on all their clothes until Monday. I got a right bargain skirt for DD.
It was on the sale rack reduced to £3 but with the extra 25% off it went down to £2.25  I would love to be virtuous and say that was all that I bought but the new Lady Gaga cd also flew into my basket as well :rotfl:I have been holding out by not downloading any of her new tracks onto my Ipod for weeks so feel quite proud of myself for waiting until her new album came out, and its brilliant. I love Lady G, defo want to try and get tickets for her next tour.
Right back to the mountain of work xx0 -
Sorry I told a big fat whopper on my earlier post, having rechecked my receipt, the skirt didn't cost me £2.25 - it cost me £1.92!!!!
Unbelieveable, might have to go and have another good rummage through the sales rack when I do my grocery shopping. Might see if they have any bargain tops for work.0 -
Busy day again today.
I've got a headache though and it just won't shift, I think its just stress and tension related though and I've not slept well over the last few nights, too many thoughts whizzing around.
I need to get organised at home as well ready for going away at the weekend, heading off Saturday morning and home Monday evening. My neighbours looking after the cat so thats one less thing to organise.
Just next week at work and then its abit of a jumble workwise due to study and exam leave.
Right back to it xx0
