  • Right hun your just having a blip, you've got loads on your plate and working bl**dy hard.

You should be really proud of everything you have achieved in roughly 6 months you have paid off half your debt, you WILL be debt free by the end of the year, so you will have paid off around £11,000 in 12 months, that is amazing and you are also a busy mum, working and studying, i don't think you relise how flipping fantastic you are and just think you will have managed to pay back that amount in 12 months, just imagine how much you will save in 12 months after your debts are cleared for you and your family and the kind of holiday that will pay for.

    Good Evening

I'm back after my feel sorry for myself wallow yesterday.

Lionheartedgirl - You are so right, I'm knackered. I don't feel phyiscally tired just mentally tired - too much thinking goes on and I don't think its doing me alot of good. I wish I could be like DH and just switch off to it all and get on with everything else, but thats just not me - I am a worrier!
We do have a £50 a month entertainment budget but it always seems to get spent on taking the kids out, we really need to spend it on taking ourselves out occasionally. I am going to check my advantage points tomorrow and hopefully there will be enough for the nail varnish that I've had my eye on.

Pennywise - your post made me cry - its so lovely to get such support.

Mummytogirls - thank you for your lovely reply, I'm glad its not just me with the CBA attitude.

Thanks everyone for the support - it really helps, will catch up properly tomorrow. DH is moaning that he's tired and wants to go to bed
  • Glad your feeling brighter and i didn't mean to make you cry.

    Good Morning

I am feeling brighter and more optimistic today, I don't know what comes over me sometimes it as though theres a big black cloud that hangs over me whenever things are starting to go right and I find it really hard to shake it off!

Yesterday I was out of bed for 8am and I decided to stop procrastinating and do something so I went round the house and put things away, dusted the lounge, hallway and kitchen, put out the recycling, put the clean washing away, hung out the wet washing and cleaned a few windows. I also managed to clean the oven. DH surfaced out of his pit at 9.15am so he was handed a cloth and bathroom cleaner and asked to go and clean the kids bathroom and our ensuite which he promptly did.

Between us we managed to do quite alot and then we were able to go out and use our NT passes but there wasn't alot in the house for sandwiches so we bought some sausage rolls and gingerbread men from Mr S, took a flask and juice and went out for the rest of the day. The kids had a great day, there was no bickering and we all got lots of lovely fresh air.

DH also applied for our olympic tickets last night and if we're successful it will be costing us £300  These were the cheapest that we could find, but it is a once in a lifetime experience and will have to come from next years holiday budget!

It was back to reality last night by getting the kids bags, pe bags, cleaning shoes and making pack ups.

DH also needs to submit his expenses this week as his credit card bill is due for payment next week. This also provides me with a constant worry as well as this is one of the cards that accumulated a £6k balance on before our LBM and I don't want it slipping back to not been paid off every month. At the moment though it has a £450 balance on so its got a long way to go before it gets into the same mess.

Its back to reality now the kids are back at school and I'm back at work so need to get my desk and inbox sorted out.
I also need a revamp of my work wardrobe as everything is grey or black and these are not the best colours for motivation. I need to find a cost effective method of revamping my wardrobe to incorporate some colour into my drab clothes.

I've also decided that once my revision is out of the way that I'm going to do something nice for myself every day - whether its painting my nails, DIY pedicure etc, re-instating my Good Food subscription as I love cooking but seem to have slipped into the safe and easy option of cooking quick food.

Right enough waffling from me, if you've read to the end of this - well done :T

    Good Morning

The sun has returned today although how long it will last for - who knows?

Well I don't know why the kids went back to school this week  all they've done so far is learn about royal weddings and seem to be having a go steady week, lucky teachers!

Today they have both had to take party food in for the Royal Wedding parties that they are having this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon the whole school is having a disco! They might as well have had this week off and last week and not broken up so early. It makes me really angry, teachers moan if we take them out of school for a weeks holiday but when theres the chance of a nice, easy week for them - its party time! Ok rant over (apologies to any teachers)

Today is a busy day at work so better go and get on with it xx
  • Same here Choo, no homework nothing for my two eldest but at least we don't have to take any more time off work till Friday!

I like your treat idea, are you a scarf person for more colour in the wardrobe? Or maybe some bright jewelry? (Neither of these options are me, just want to hide at the moment) But i do like the statement necklaces that Ruth Watson wears on Country House Rescue!

    Hi Polly

Thanks for popping by, I'm not a scarf person but it sounds like a cheap way of brightening up my wardrobe - will have to see what I can find. I need to sort out my clothes and see whats lurking in the wardrobe who knows what i might find in there.

I can't motivate myself today, I have so much work to do but its just not happening. Next week will be better, I have a study day tomorrow so today is the last day at work until Tuesday.
