    Thanks Polly :D

It doesn't happen very often I've become more of a thinker rather than a do - er just recently!

The NT passes were £66.38 for a family of 4 and if you go through Quidco you get 30% cashback so it was worth doing.

    Hi choogirl,

just popped in to say hi and  about OH. Bless him and his poor sponge :rotfl: oh dear how mean do I sound!

It's snooker time which always reminds me of exam revision - had to give up watching the world championships as it was such a time thief (snooker is a guilty pleasure!), and have to say I enjoy it all the more now knowing I don't have to feel guilty about watching it!

So good luck with all your efforts, I know it will be hard and frustrating, but with all your focus on so many things I'm sure you can keep going through the final push :j

I saw the NT thing on quidco too - my mum and dad have just moved to within dog-walking distance of 2 NT properties so have been meaning to get them a membership for ages. I've probably missed it by now but sounds like you got a bargain :)

I was inspired by your superwoman morning yesterday - was going to laze about but then thought about everything you had achieved in your couple of hours and cracked on so thanks! :T

    Thanks little-h

Really theres no need to feel sorry for DH he seems to do just fine, he's got the hint now and has informed me that he will wait for his birthday next year and get one then but he's upgraded it to buying a new bag and trolley  Its fair enough I suppose as if all goes according to plan we'll be debt free by then and it won't be a problem, however I will be expecting the same level of present for my birthday next year hmmm what can a girl buy for £400?

Ideas so far are handbag, shoes :rotfl:

I have got to stay focused on the exams and it has been really hard but theres only 8 weeks to go and then they're done :T

The NT deal is on Quidco until December so no rush for you. Glad I inspired you with my Superwoman do yesterday, I don't often feel the need to exert so much energy on a Sunday morning but it got the job done.

    Take care xx

    Hi Mummytogirls

I loved getting all that done as well it was a lovely morning and I was wide awake anyway so it was a very productive start. I wonder if I could manage to do it more often?

My DH is finding the concept of earn the extra yourself or do without hard to grasp at the moment, he says surveys take too long and doesn't see the point of Quidco when you'll only get £x amount back  Well he can have that opinion but I will earn the extra and spend it on myself and the kids.

    Take care xx

    Good Evening

Yesterday we used our NT passes for the first time and we had a lovely family afternoon. We took our own drinks and biscuits, had a lovely walk and it was just so lovely to leave all the stresses of home and exams behind. We will definitely be making the most of the passes all summer!

Today has been a HSD as we've had a day out at the seaside so had fish and chips for lunch, icecreams and car parking so it all added up, however we don't often spend alot of money on family days out so its fine. The weather was abit cooler at the coast but the kids still enjoyed running on the beach and again we had a lovely day.

No plans for tomorrow yet we'll see what the weather is doing, hopefully we've timed it well and picked a good week xx

    Good Afternoon

Today has been a very (too) HSD!!! I've spent £125 in Mr As

    Breakdown as follows

    £25 - kids clothes
    £4 Easter eggs
    £36 Alcohol :o
    £2 DIY
    £58 Groceries

Oh dear, I'm now trying to justify it to myself that the booze will do for the Royal Wedding party next week, the kids needed some new tops and its Easter on Sunday but when its all down it black and white its a scary figure especially when I've been spending £65 a week. Back to Aldx next week as theres nothing there to spend extra money on.

Its lovely been off on holiday but its so much easier to spend money than when I'm at work all week.

The kids won't need any new clothes now until the Autumn unless DD manages to rip/ruin/filthy up any of hers and no more booze buying now until all that has gone.

Right I'm heading out into the garden to do a few tidy up jobs that need doing xx

    Good Morning

Just popping in to report the latest happenings at Choo central.

DH got paid yesterday but the robbing !!!!!! taxman is now taking £37 a month extra in NI and PAYE  So much for everyone been better off!

We've spent quite alot of money this week and I'm not really looking forward to the day of reckoning on Sunday when I will do the finances. I am definitely aiming to repay £478 to Barclaycard this month and we've also had our double child benefit this month so that can go there as well.

In all we should be moving into the £6k bracket and will have paid back 49%, might try and find the extra £96 required to move us onto the 50% repaid but will have to see what the weeks damage has been.

Just plodding along with surveys as I've got my eye on a rather nice item that I am hoping to buy as a treat for finishing my exams but obviously I need to save/earn the money first.

Today is going to be more washing, tidy up in the garden (again) and then a BBQ later, will probably have to pop to the shop to get some salad things as well.

Need to also push DH to get our olympic tickets sorted out as we don't want to miss the deadline.

Have a good day all xx
  • 49% paid back, wow that is incredible!

a pain that the tax/NI situation has changed - I am anxiously waiting for my payslip next week and hoping the damage isn't too bad.

But how far have we come when just £37 makes a huge difference to us? I know I used to think ah £37 that's nothing, but now it's massive when I think of all the things I can do with that. Sad that it's the other way and you are losing rather than gaining, but at least now you are on track with your money and can plan accordingly.

Hope you enjoy your easter weekend :j and look forward to hearing about what your treat item will be! :)
