    Hi Lionheartedgirl and Mummytogirls

Thank you for popping by :T

I can't believe we're making the 49% mark either, theres 2 sides to it really on one hand it seems to have flown past since September but has also felt like its been a real slog getting there as well. I just keep thinking that lifes on hold for the moment though as they'll be no summer holiday this year and the house/garden needs some money spending on it as well, but we'll get there!

As for the extra NI/Paye I'm not worrying about it as the budget can be rejigged to sort it out and TBH nothing really fazes me anymore re money as I know that we're fortunate enough to be able to sort it out so long as its not some extortionate amount. I have asked DH to check his payslip though to make sure that his tax code is 100 higher than last month.

Lionheartedgirl - I have my eye on a rather nice handbag with a dog attachment for my treat, I've always looked at them in the shops and thought they're really expensive so have never purchased but now I'm thinking one would be a rather nice reward for finishing all my exams.
I have £23 towards one so far so need a few more surveys and then I will be purchasing a nice casual one.

Hope everyones enjoying the sun and bank holiday weekend xxx
  • Choo, i looooooove those bags, my current handbag is that make ( which was bought 2 years ago in the sales using christmas money) and so is my purse bought off ebay, i'm not sure where you live but cheshire oaks retail place have a shop there and they are a lot cheaper than on the high street.

Well done on 49% you have worked so hard to get where you are.

    Good Afternoon

At last I have the house to myself, DH and DS have gone out and DD is out playing, even the cat is out somewhere so I have a nice, quiet house.

Pennywise - we've been to Cheshire Oaks before, we popped in after we had visited Chester Zoo. Its a lovely retail park and if memory serves me correct theres quite a big play area and I remember there been a Monsoon outlet as well. I was quite taken with it. Unfortunately we live about 70 miles east of it so I'll have to take a look and see if there are any more outlets nearer to us, unless I can persuade DH and the kids to have a day out there :rotfl:

I am just tackling the ironing mountain (again) and done 3 loads of washing, I just want everything ready for the return to work and school next week.

I'm going to look at the finances (again) tomorrow and see what damage has been done this week. I think that I might be able to squeeze another £24 towards my new handbag as we had a fraudulent transaction made on DH credit card that he uses for work and its now sorted but MBNA charged us interest on the transaction which they've now refunded back to us so I might just syphon that off to my handbag fund. The way I see it, I do the finances, I've stressed over them and done numerous calculations, felt guilty about it etc so its my reward!

On a positive note I've just used up the last dregs from my gigantic bottle of Bold which I purchased in December for £7! It has lasted so long and I've done at least 5 loads of washing a week, thats a right bargain!

Have a good day all and enjoy the sunshine xxx
  • Blue Planet Aquarium is next door to cheshire oaks and You can use tesco clubcard vouchers, just had a look on Tesco's websites and its a new reward;):D.

Sorry to start my own little convo here in your diary Choo!! But since you and Pennywise are up North near me have either of you been to Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester? Was thinking of taking the kids and weve got a 2 for 1 voucher so it would be good to make use of the offer x x

No we haven't been there, might have to check it out in the next holidays. Let me know if you go and if it was any good.

Pennywise - thanks for the suggestion of the Aquarium, will definitely suggest that as one of our next days out ;):rotfl:

    Happy Easter :icotbaske

I have spent the entire morning working on our finances and as predicted it really didn't make good reading, but we were on holiday and we have managed to do some jobs that have needed to be done for ages so I don't feel too bad about overspending. The debt busting frame of mind will resume next week :j

We now owe just over £6600 and have paid off 49.2% of our debt so its all heading in the right direction.

I don't know whats wrong with me at the moment though as I don't feel right in myself and I've just got a right CBA attitude. I'm hoping that I might perk up when all my exams are over and I can give the house a good clean and de-clutter, everyone I know seems to be booking holidays or planning lovely things and I'm feeling abit low as realistically we could also be doing these things but we're stuck repaying debt :(
  • you are probably just knackered! :(

if you carry on at the rate you are, you will be able to have guilt free holidays in the very near future and as has been said before, I'm sure the kids won't feel they are missing out. You have made massive changes in such a short period of time, pretty much on your own, it's brilliant! :T

Is there any slack to allow you to have/do something lovely that will make you feel a little less down? Nice night out for you and OH maybe? (MSE of course, but could be good to let your hair down for a little while!)
