Thank you Abba, Mummytogirls and Dolly she had a lovely day and hopefully it will be a treasured memory.

Not much to report today done the usual pile of ironing, I watched PS I Love you whilst ironing and guess what - I started crying, no surprise there! I am such a soft wuss!

I had a glass of wine with dinner tonight so had to have a little doze on the sofa this evening which is abit naughty as I should have been studying. I do feel abit better for it though.
I need to do more when I get in from work instead of just trying to cram everything in at the weekend. Weekends are supposed to be for relaxing, not constantly cleaning, washing and ironing!!

Well its a busy week at work ahead of me and more studying.

    Bedtime soon, night night xx

    Hi Abba
Sorry not posted for a few days as I haven't been feeling brilliant. I didn't sleep properly Monday night so felt pants yesterday and have had a really sore throat as well :( Just been trying to take things abit easier.

I think I'm also reading too much on the main DFW board as well and taking too much of it to heart, worrying for everyone else. Will have to read less of those posts and spend more time reading diaries as they give me lots of inspiration.

Hope all is ok with you, I will catch up with diaries tomorrow.

    CG xx
  • hi choogirl, haven't posted lately but am still reading!

I find it easy to get bogged down in the main DFW board (don't mean that in a mean way honest) and like you, feel for everyone and worry as to how on earth they will get sorted out. The diaries are great for inspiration and tips!

Glad your DD's party was successful. I still remember the birthday parties I had when I was an even littler little h! (there were 2 I think, aged 6 and 7 I think (!), at our local community centre) My mum went to great effort with birthday cakes, all home made as there wasn't much money when we were little, and they were much appreciated and very much loved.

how is the studying going? when are your next exams?

    Hi little_h

    Thanks for posting :D

I remember one of my parties, my parents hired the local church hall and my Mum made me a cake with a maypole in the middle, it had ribbons and smarties. It was the best ever! My parents never had alot of money but strangely enough I don't ever remember going without anything.

My studying is going really well thank you, my next exams are in the summer and then its all over :j

    Good Evening

A good week so far, although tried to buy some new clothes today in my usual size and they felt tight :o The diet will be starting next week! Now that the finances are under control I now feel that I am ready to tackle my weight. I am probably a stone overweight so would like to lose that by the end of the year along with the remainder of my debt. Anything is possible now, I just need to apply the same mantra to weight loss as I have to debt busting :T The girl in the shop also offered me 20% discount if I took out a storecard, I felt so proud of myself when I said No thank you, I don't do storecards.

Not alot has happened on the money front, just plodding away. I haven't bought anything that hasn't been budgeted for so its all good. DS and DD are at their school disco on Saturday afternoon so I am resisting the urge to go and buy them both something new to wear. They don't need anything and the old Choogirl would have just gone and bought new clothes for them.

DH has mentioned that there may be a new role in the pipeline for him which would mean a substantial payrise. I'm not getting my hopes up though as we've heard all this before.

I have stocked up the baking cupboard today so are hoping that I can get back into baking for the kids pack ups, must resist eating it myself though. Theres some bananas that have gone soft in the fruit bowl so I'm going to make banana and chocolate chip muffins at the weekend. I've not had any success with muffins yet so we'll see how it goes! The diet will begin on Monday.

I am having a night out with my best friend tomorrow night, just a few drinks and a good natter. Its ages since we've had a good catch up and who knows there may be a tall dark handsome man to ogle at :rotfl:I may even found something to wear that fits me as well.:(

    Thats it from me
    Bye for now xxx
  • Afternoon choogirl, well done on saying no to the storecard :j. You must have felt so good inside!

Ooohhh the banana and choc chip muffins sound absolutely delicious and obviously you are contributing to your 5 a day !!

Hope you have a lovely night tonight, im sure youve a wardrobe full of gorg outfits to wear.

Have a good weekend :D xx

    Hi Mummytogirls

Yes it felt so good saying no to a storecard, the old me would have been signed up before the sentence was finished. I used to have a Monsoon card and always repaid it in full but the temptation was always there to spend.

I hadn't thought of the banana muffin been part of my 5 a day - LOL I like it!

I really don't have much to wear, a starting debt of £13k and you would think that I had a wardrobe brimming with clothes but I really don't. I will have to have a good dig around.

Your signature is looking fantastic - well done xxx

    Good Afternoon Diary

Had another quick look round the shops this morning and I could have burst into tears in the middle of the shop. Nothing in my usual size would zip up :o I feel so depressed at the moment, I need to do something about it and make myself feel good again. Going shopping isn't an option as nothing fits and I am certainly not buying the next size up!!!
The diet has got to start Tuesday, unfortunately I have promised DH that I will cook a nice meal with wine for Valentines Day so it can't be started Monday. I need to think of cheap ways of exercising as well as cutting back on my calorie intake.

Gone are the days when I was a member at a lovely, posh but expensive gym and I had a personal trainer (and I wonder why we're in this mess)

Need to start walking more, but I don't like walking :rotfl:
  • Hi choogirl, sorry to hear your feeling down, i've also put on weight and decided to do something about it after christmas, i have to say in the last fews weeks i have lost 5lbs not loads but its coming off slowly, have not really been exercising much except for just dance on the wii, eating healthy, cut out choccy and fatty stuff, did have a mcdonalds last weekend and had my weigh in today and lost 2lb this week, maybe you could do steak, chips and salad as a valantine meal but not eat the chips. Good luck with trying to find a way.
