i know what you mean re. the lighter evenings! I have only really noticed it today but I didn't have to put the light on in my front room until 12 minutes to 5 which is unheard of lately! (been working from home today)
For my last month's supermarket spends I kept all my receipts and listed them all out on a spreadsheet. I was feeling that my food money wasn't going very far, and suspected it was cleaning stuff that was responsible. It has been very useful and I think it will help me reduce what I spend and budget a bit better. I don't have OCD and generally don't feel a burning need to list everything out, but knowing when I am due for more dishwasher tablets/washing powder etc will help me somehow I'm sure! :rotfl: I like your idea of listing prices for your regular items too, that is a good idea.
I had a pretty cheap month last month but even I had to be horrified at how little I'd spent on fresh veg! I had a month of using up the contents of the freezer but even so, it was pitiful!0 -
Hi Dolly & little_h
I do like organisation and know that once all these spreadsheets are up and running I will feel happier within myself. It will also stop all the numbers and thoughts banging around in my head, I woke up early this morning thinking about numbers again!! It has become an obsession now, just need some time now to get sorted. Once this lot is sorted I can focus completely on my studying.
Have a good evening xx0 -
Good afternoon
Busy day at work this morning as usual and done a clients payroll as well this afternoon.
On a MSE front I've had to buy some hair serum today but Mr S had 1/3 off so I've bought that to try and it cost me £2.90. My hairdresser sells serum for £13  last year I would have just bought it but now the supertight Choogirl likes to save her pennies! There's no wonder that my hairdresser can always afford to go on holiday selling products at that price.
I have also bought a nice joint of beef for dinner on Sunday so looking forward to that already. Last winter we had a big roast dinner every week but this winter we've been trying out lots of different things and have enjoyed it just as much.
Its nice as well not having to spend all Sunday afternoon cooking a roast.
Tomorrow I'm going to see what Lidx has to offer, see if I can save some more pennies.
I've been having a good root round on the old style boards, theres so much reading material over there I could get lost for hours.
Had a dig around in the freezer and tonights dinner in the house of Choogirl is fishfingers, mash, carrots, peas and cabbage. At least theres 4 of our 5 a day veggies there.
On the diet front I've been really good today and only had 1 chocolate that was offered to me at work. I've had lots of grapes, cherry toms and pepper sticks to nibble on but I am so hungry. It doesn't help skipping breaskfast but I didn't get time as I had to dry and straighten my hair and the banana that I picked up to eat upstairs was over-ripe.
Goodness I can ramble on about a load of old drivvle, sorry!!0 -
Well I was supposed to be going to sort out a pile of washing and put some ironed clothes away but now the cats decided to sit on my knee and go to sleep. I haven't got the heart to take him off as he never normally sits on knees, bless him xx0

Go choogirl, resisting more chocolate, the force is strong with you today. Household chores can always wait, they will still be there, but enjoy little kitty on your knee.

Hi Dolly
I was enjoying cuddling the kitty until the little bug**r bit me and ran off :rotfl:It was nice for 10 minutes though
Hope you've had a good day xx0 -
That made me laugh, I love the way cats do that, they want your attention only when they want it, then you are surplus to requirements and an irritation. Hi Choogirl, just popping in for a catch up!
We have a shopping budget of £220 for the month, I think its defo doable but will see as this is the first month ive set a 'proper' budget!
Ooohhh the pasta dish you made for tea sounds absolutely delish. Might have to create that one myself!
Yay to picking up the cheap hair serum, you too will be affording to go on holiday every year not buying from the hairdressers :T

He certainly does, especially after todays episode - tried to thieve the scotch egg off my plate at lunchtime :mad:
I'll be skinning him to make a nice scarf and then stew him, he should do nicely for a few meals :rotfl:
