Good afternoon
Not much to report, its just another cold, grey day. The kids are starting to drive me mad with their constant bickering, tale telling and general whining. I've sent them out to play, theres only so much that one Mum can take before she snaps. I am sooo looking forward to the long summer holiday (not!)
DH has also informed me today that his car service is going to cost £300 and it needs 2 new tyres at £400  So in the space of 24 hours DH has earmarked £900ish of expenditureWe have £340 of this so £560 is going to have to be taken from my bonus payment at the end of March. This was allocated to debt repayments but thats not going to happen now
These are all teething problems though as the budgets are all set correctly but with them only starting properly in January theres not enough money set aside yet. I knew these problems would occur its just hard accepting it.
Right onward and upwards, no good moping about it0 -
At least you're working out where the money is coming from and how you're going to pay for it whereas before you'd prob just stick it on a CC and think nothing of it x x x

Abba - Thats true, at least I can sort it out and not just stick it on a credit card accruing interest and just sitting there.
Well DH got in from work and he's just submitted his expenses for January and February, after we've paid off the credit card that he uses for work we should have about £500 left over :j I will save the £500 until the end of next month and wait to see what the statement balance is at the end of March, if we can cover the next statement balance with March expenses and some of the £500 I can then use the remainder for the tyres, service and suit. I might not have to use as much of my bonus as originally thought!!
The plan for this evening is to set up my grocery spreadsheet, meal plan and do a shopping list. Unfortunately I will have to take DD and DS shopping with me in the morning which is always an ordeal
All I hear is can I have? can I have every 2 minutes, I always feel a meanie saying no but maybe there will be a packet of sweeties for them if they're good.
I have just had a quick nosey through the small freezer and I'm going to try and meal plan for the week with the food thats in there. The freezer needs defrosting so if I can use up everything before I clean it I won't have to transfer the food into the big freezer
Right thats enough waffling and rambling from me xxx0 -
Hey Choogirl
Your children sound lovely, treat them to something nice and sweet (bought my grandchildren bunch of grapes and 8 ripe nectarines and plums. they loved them, also pineapple is a favourite too!
My children are now 21 and 23 so do not come shopping with me!!! Yee hah
However when they were littleuns i used to make it into a game, ie who could find me the ingredients for certain items? It kept then busy and also out of my hair.

Morning Choogirl, did you manage to get your meal plans and what not sorted out?
I cant bear to go to the supermarket with my 2. DD1 always nearly gets knocked over by other shoppers so im constantly telling her to move out the way and watch where shes going. DD2 always climbs out the seat. So its quite a stressful event hence why im getting mine delivered this week . I can justify it with the free delivery though :T.
I think your 2 would appreciate the packet of sweets at the end.
Yay to DH having some left over from his expense money :T hopefully like you say the tyre and suit money might be mostly covered there.

Awww Dolly, thanks you've made me blush
They are lovely children (most of the time) well behaved, polite and I know that I can take them anywhere and that they will behave. They have their moments when they start on each other but then they wouldn't be kids if there wasn't some sibling rivalry.
I might try buying fruit for them instead of sweets.
Have a great day xxx0 -

Hi Mummy
Yes I have a very nice spreadsheet set up now, the meal plans are all done for the week and the contents of the small freezer should be dwindled down abit more. I am aiming for £60, which according to my spreadsheet is do-able :T I have also found a small purse and I shall take £60 in cash with me, hopefully there will be something left and I can save it in the treat pot.
My 2 get in the way of all the other shoppers as well, I have to keep reminding them 1 in front and 1 behind the trolley. It is stressful, I wish that I'd had my shopping delivered now
I mentioned the Tesco clubcard vouchers to DH and I was disappointed that he didn't look as horrified as I had anticipated.
He said that he will take a look but I know that won't happen, I think he just said he would look to stop me banging on about it.
Have a great day xxx0 -
Good Evening
Had a good day with the kids, they've been reasonably well behaved all day.
I only spent £55 at the supermarket, so I have £5 left in my grocery purse. I shall save it until next Thursday to make sure that I don't have to buy anything else and then transfer it to the family treat pot :j Since starting this journey I am so much aware of how much things are and how hard it is to earn the money. I can't wait to be debt free and I will be rich :rotfl:
I have also got £7 on my Mr A christmas card so will continue to save £1 each week and will hopefully have enough to buy lots of bottles of wine for Christmas :T
On another positive note I have lost 2 pounds this week so another 5 pounds to go and I can treat myself to the beautiful chanel nail varnish.
I am also 0.75p away from a survey paying out so I'm going to choose a M & S voucher and save it for new clothes for the kids :T
I'm so tired tonight so its a dinner of jacket potato with stew remnants and a bath for me. DH is away until Friday so I can also watch what I like on tv and go to bed early :T
In all its been a good positive day xxx0 -
We had jackets and beans for tea tonight as couldn't be bothered.
Your really doing so well with everything, keep it up.0 -
Wahoo
The survey has just paid out, the M & S voucher is winging its way to me :j0
