    Hi Abba & little_h

The food was lovely thank you.

little_h, scallops are really easy to cook, they just need to be fried for a few minutes each side and then just serve them. Really easy x Thank you I'm feeling much better. I keep dosing myself up with paracetomol!

    Good Morning

It was the starting weigh in today, not as bad as expected at 10 stone 6 pounds and I am five foot 8 so my height disguises it well.

GOALS TO REACH BY END OF 2011

    Qualify as an accountant
    Lose 1 stone
    Pay off £8000 of debt
    Declutter 6 rooms/areas of house
Decorate & spruce up 3 rooms

Alot to be going on with there but baby steps will get me there

Have a great day everyone :A

  • Evening Choogirl, ooohhh the menu sounds delish!!

Hi choogirl. I find it very hard to have NSDs but LSDs are easier..maybe try not to spend more than x a day? Don't beat yourself up. You're dealing with the situation and that's the main thing..

    \I am a newbie - what is an NSD / LSD ?
  • Hi there, NSD = no spend day, and LSD = low spend days

    Hi Dollybeads
Thanks for replying to Monkey you beat me to it xx

    Good Afternoon

Nothing much to report, the kids are playing out in the garden at the moment so I'm having a nice quiet coffee. Its so nice now that the evenings are getting lighter it makes me feel so positive about everything.

I got my car insurance renewal notice through today so will have to sort that out next week when I will have abit more time. I am going to pay for it in 1 lump sum though and just keep continuing to save the monthly amount up so that next year I will have all the money ready.

I am going to try Lidx for my shopping this week to see what is available. I've decided that next month I am going to decrease my food budget by £20 and see if I can feed us all inc the cat for £220.

I have set aside a day and a morning next week over half term to work on finances, spreadsheets and a filing system so hopefully I will feel more in control. I have done a comprehensive finances to do list which I will be following religiously next week.

Ideally I would like to set up a spreadsheet for the following, please feel free to call me a saddo I won't be offended :rotfl:

    1) Set up a spreadsheet listing all the items that I have bought from the supermarket with the price next to them and then when I do my shopping list I can just use this, I will be able to see instantly how much I'm predicting to spend and if there are any areas that I can reduce my spending to stay within my budget

    2) Set up a spreadsheet that works out the cost of each meal and again I can use this with my shopping list

I am sad but its the OCD side of me. I would like all the predicted debt repayment information writing down in my little notebook that I carry round with me so that I don't have to sit scribbling little notes down all the time.

Lastly on a more sombre, morbid thought I would like to do a User Guide on our finances for my DH to be able to follow for if anything happened to me. I do all the finances and my lovely DH wouldn't have a clue where to start if anything happened to me. I just want to set up a folder with everything documented so it would be one less thing for him to think about.

Right thats enough morbid thoughts lets all think of something nice and happy :)

I'm going to have a hunt through the fridge for something for tea as I need to go shopping but won't get a chance to do it until Friday. It could be a strange meal tonight.

    Bye for now xxxx

Ok had a dig around -its bacon and mushrooms in a creamy sauce with pasta for tea :j
  • Hey Choogirl, dinner sounds yum.

Re the spreadsheets, you are so organised and recognise the OCD thing. Like you I have a spreadsheet for just about everything, every spend, every penny saved, every penny put towards my snowball, but love your idea about how much each thing costs, mmmmmmmm might just borrow that idea if you don't mind?

Love the lighter nights, it gives you back a bit of belief that things are on the up!

    Have a good night Dolly x ;)
