  • Thanks again,Growley and Marshallka,,I,ve just spoken too a very helpful gentleman from the MOJ,he tells me,that because I sent the claim forms back too Lifestyle claims, uncompleted, they therefore did no work on my behalf,so,my money should be refunded in full,so,perhaps if other people read this,it may be of some help to them too,its certainly a lesson for me!! If I get anymore calls from any of these sharks, the phone will go straight down,

I am glad you got some help from MOJ. Hope you get your money back soon and let us know when you have reply from Lifestyle on this.

IF they still dismiss it then perhaps you would need to get back to the MOJ and perhaps writing to them (as well!!!) and getting something back from them in writing might do the trick. In fact could you get the gentleman from the MOJ to state what he told you in writing and then you can send a copy to Lifestyle claims so they KNOW you mean business.
  • Thanks Marshallka,he said he was going to get in touch with Lifestyle himself today,He,s probably heard of them before,Haa!! Anyway,I.ll keep you informed of any positive results,I will pursue this, with the utmost vigour,I think its absolutely disgusting, that they prey on people in this manner! they really are a very shady outfit!!
  • I,ve just had a call from them,A very pleasant lady, from customer service, saying they thought I had retired to Thailand,[which is what I intend] they probably thought I had already gone!! so,they,d got away with it,,but,I shall stay in the UK now until I get some satisfaction, she said she was going too have a word with her manager, and would call me back, today or tomorrow,I wait with great anticipation!! and hold my breath!! so,it seems MOJ has had contact with them already
  • I think I,ll wait and see what develops tomorrow, and if they call me,then, the next move will be the trading standards office, and the office of fair trading, then if that fails,it will be the media,I think that Dominic Littlewood, would love too hear about this lot, they seem to have ripped a lot of people off!!
  • Hi again Marshallka and Growley,,I,ve been told by Lifestyle claims,my money will be paid back into my account, but, after checking the bank everyday for the last week, nothing has gone back in yet!Its very strange they don,t pay it back as quick as they take it!!!,I,ll be patient for the next week or so,and then get in touch again with the MOJ,And any other agencies that can help, and make more people aware of the very doubtful practice, that Lifestyle employs,I,ll keep you posted of any developments!

My sister just had £2000 taken from her and they claim its in the Terms and condtions. They have used false advertising on their site and take maoney with no proof of work nor results. Please be advised We will be fighting for every penny plus compensation and theft. Don't use these scam artists.
  • Having just given out my credit card details to Lifestyle I have checked out this thread and been lucky enough to block my credit card before the payment was taken. The sales pitch was quite good and I fell for the 'government approved' service line. I know that the government have been trying to put things in place to help with debt problems etc, so was taken in.
Having answered their questions has made me wonder if I could make a claim. I think I had a total of 8, possibly more cards over the last 6 or so years including MBNA (which they seemed quite excited over). I'm not exactly the most financial minded person and cannbe a bit lax about any financial responsibility so I think I could have been easy prey for any credit card company. I have moved credit about to make the most of low interest rates and sometimes ended up paying high interest. I have also, sometimes received charges from credit card companies. I am fairly sure that if I have ever been offered any form of payment protection, I will have refused it - but the 'very polite salesman' said I still had a claim and should be looking at at least £2000 'per card'?
Is it worth me trying to make a claim? I really don't want to go through filling in forms and digging through information if it will be a waste of time. I had hopednthat this might be a genuine company who would domall of the hard work and take a well deserved, but not too greedy cut. Does anyone know if there is a service like that out there. I don't want to be stupid enough to fall for a scam but, to the same extent, I don't want to be stupid enough to miss out on money owed to me.

    Any advice greatfuly received.

(just anquick footnote - whilst writing this, I have already received 2 e mails from ppi claims companies offering help. I wonderr if this is just coincidence or due to me trying to research claims companies on the Internet?)

Report them to the ministry of justice if they said that. The MoJ rules explicitly state that they should not say that.

What do you think? if you haven't got it then how can you complain that you have it?

These cold calling sales agents are paid to get people to sign up. They are unqualified and not individually regulated. You could start work cold calling like this tomorrow. That is the extent of the skill required. You are not paid unless you get people to sign up. So, would you trust them?

There is a fraud called advance fee fraud where they entice you with a big payout and to get it all you need to do is pay a smaller amount up front. I am not saying that is the case here as I was not party to the conversation. However, ask yourself this. Have you been enticed with a large payoff that requires a small up front payment?

  • Thank you. You have confirmed my gut feeling. I had supervisor phone me today to ask why payment had not gone through. When I told him I didn't want to go ahead he again reassured me that it was a government backed scheme - so I will pass this on.

    Thanks again for your advice.
