I spoke to my mortgage company and their PPI company - and there are no records showing that I took out ppi.

Now yes they could say that so I do not make a claim, but im sure I did not take it out anyway 5 years ago.

Most MPPI plans are paid monthly by direct debit from your current account. So, you should be able to see it if you have it.

Would it just be as direct debit for mortgage and ppi combined with just one amount showing for both?

Usually (as there are exceptions) the MPPI is standalone and not included with the mortgage payment. If it is, then it is shown on the annual mortgage statement.

I must say that Lifestyle claims is one of the most reliable CMC's (claims management companies) out there.

EMPLOYEE ALERT - take post with a pinch of salt and marketing spin.

I agree and I reckon I know the name of the person to.

Ministry of Justice dose not condone pressure selling, and thats exactly what was going on, everytime I had doubts the caller would interupt without me finishing every single time.

If they want a case with me, first get me the money, then I be glad to pay the £350-500 fee, until then i'm not interested.
  • My wife phoned me to tell me about the good news that a company had contacted her blah blah blah, she had agreed to pay over £300 up front on our credit card.

I immediately told her to cancel it, at the same time my mobile went with a text saying "Thank you for choosing Lifestyle Claims, please visit https://www.liefestyleclaims.net/pre-con.html and expect a call from one of our advisors shortly."

My credit card wouldn't stop the money saying we had to contact the company first, my wife called Lifestyle Claims and said that she didn't believe a fee should have been taken and the guy there tried to bull !!!!!! about how if they were dodgy the MoJ had registered them. I personally think he's fobbed her off by saying that the pack is in the post and to return it immediately and that he would get their financial team to phone her within half an hour.

Extremely worried that I'm now going to have a fight on my hands to get the money back.

I would call the credit card company again, tell them what tey said least they can make a note on it on the account.

That way if they fail to refund the money or send the pack out least the credit card company is aware and maybe able to help and do something.

In the end when they kep ringing me, i said if they are that confident they can get me these 000s, then get it first and take your fee then.

I hate being rushed or pushed in to something to, my other half falls for it everytime nearly which does my head in.

Mum get hassled to but she knows to call me first and ask, and lifestyle claims are not the only one out there, i have been called by many others to.

Oh and tell your credit company that you would like to begin a claim in a few days, as lifestyle claims keeps putting the phone down on you to, that sometimes works also.
  • I too have been contacted by this company and received an e.mail that states

    "What will it cost?

We work on a NO WIN, NO FEE basis. Our fees are paid as a percentage of the claim, so we only get paid (if the claim succeeds) out of the money recovered.

If we win a claim on your behalf we take a maximum fee of 30% (plus VAT) of the compensation amount. You receive the rest. If we fail to secure compensation, you owe us nothing.

There is a £10 document request fee that has to be paid to the lender for each claim and this is non-refundable."

I have read the messages on this thread and they are worrying and I won't be parting with a penny but does the above represent a change of approach? Wonder if anyone else has received similar statement?

    Has anyone heard of

    life style money . net
    ........
Any thoughts would be great, she says she want £399 + vat from me to a claim worth £4500 can be made - sounds nice, but is it??..........

PS if this is a scam ......

Sadly this is the exact psychology that these and other scammers worldwide rely on. You WANT it to be true.

I run an anti-scam blog. Many people write to me about their experiences as a victim. A common theme, sometime explicitly stated, is that they wanted the scam to be true.
  • I too paid out £352 on the 15th December 2010 to "Lifestyle claims" and to date haven't received any money back. But i did try to cancel my payment with my credit card company 5 minutes after the initial call with Lifestyle and my credit card company told me that if there is a problem that a note would be put on my account for this to be contested. Within 5 minutes of the call they had taken my money!!! After reading the info on here today i have just tried to contact Lifestyle and am waiting for a call back. I was initially told that i had to ask for a "Shane James" as he would be dealing with my account from start to finish, anyone heard of this person or been given the same contact?

I feel totally stupid now why did i part with my money on a cold call!!! All the cheques that i had to return with the paperwork have all been cashes £10 & £1 for each claim.

    GG Now i am grissley!!!xx:mad:
