Honestly - I've had more fun with my iPhone and that app recently than I have taking *proper* pictures...:o

I'm not on commision - but you should get that app - it's huge fun

It was sunny here today.......!!!

Soooo....I trundled along the road to take my photo. As I said, I knew *exactly* what I wanted, and for a change from me it's a very literal interpretation:



The Sculpture that the reflection appears in is called Solo Flight and is one of the many fantastic sculptures we have in the town. It looks like this :



The building reflected in the sculture is St Mary Latton Church - here:



And after taking the photo for the challenge (and then LOADS more for good measure!) I wandered over the road to take some shots around the church as well. I've photographed it before, but not for several years, and not with the current wide angle lens I have, so decided that a bit of time spent there would be good. I'd worked my way around the outside and was right round the back when the verger arrived....and asked if I'd like to see the inside as well! Naturally I jumped at the chance, and had a very interesting wander round inside while he got on with his.....well, verging I suppose! :rotfl: And an interesting chat about the history of the church, and a couple of local charities that they are involved with which I shall be finding out more about. All in all an excellent afternoon!

Well, I finally got around to uploading a few pictures to photobucket from my time in Austria. The reflections picture hasnt worked out quite as I had hoped so I am a little disappointed. I loved the way that the Tyrolean houses were distorted in the reflections on this but it is not quite so clear on the photo.

This image from the church in the village that I stayed reminded me of when I was a child and we were given "penance" told to reflect on our sins. We also had to light candles to remember loved ones and reflect on their lives.

Nice shots Cheri! I like your reflections - love the sort of "disjointedness" of it! The church looks very calm and serene.

Thanks EH, I posted and ran before. So much to do lately. yes the church was very serene and beautiful.

Your pictures are great, I love the reflection of the church and the little glimpse of you too! For me I like the roof of your church in your shot, the shadows are great and seem to make the red roof more punctuated against the sky, looks almost 3d.

EH fantastic shots and so well exposed! I really like the shot with the whole sculpture standing beside the tree, which is dwarfed in comparison to it! Your composition is nice, and the sky looks really blue....now I know why you wanted the nice weather!

I have to say myfav has to be the church, which has such good tones and colours. The tones in the roof tiles especially are really striking. You definitely chose a good time of day to take the photos as the light on the church is really good. Was it early morning or afternoon? Lucky you getting to snap inside the church too.....might have to wangle a similar visit myself if possible!

Cheri your heart photo looks so well....again I like the fact that you didn't take the photo straight on as it makes the composition much more interesting, and the reflections in the wee mirrors better too. The colours in the rusty gate looks brilliant too!

So are we going to set another new challenge for this week, or shall we say two weeks time< not this mon but next?) ?
