i think it's a pretty good photo Pippi, i like the green hair the first one is growing
first picture was taken at our allotment, unsurprisingly not much happening up there at the moment.

i have to admit i love the sky in the allotment photo the colours are beautiful. I think the sky is one of my favourite things i think it's so changeable, colourful and beautiful.0

Pippi, your stone circle photos are perfect. You have really captured the detailnand colours so well. The colours and exposure have come out really well, and I like your composition in the second shot too.
I know what you mean about striving to frame the whole circle, as I've been in the same situation myself. After a bit of experimenting I discovered panoramic shots, which with the help of a tripod are dead easy. Look it up on net to see what I meanDFW'ers photography comp member no. 60 -
Pippi I love your shots - I have a bit of a thing about stone circles but they are fiendishly tricky things to get right, I know. I showed your pics to PH and he suggested maybe if you could find a higher vantage point and shoot looking slightly more down on it, that would make more of the stones as it would sort of "close them up" together a bit. Contemplates makes a good point about panos too - check out the Pano app for the iPhone which is pretty good, and also you can always do a "cheaty" pano with a wide angle lens, then crop your shot to the right dimensions afterwards! For my money though your first pic with the hairy rock is just fabulous - the detail you've captured and that lovely hairy lichen is gorgeous.
LT - your poor abandoned allotments! There is something about allotments in the winter, nobody about and looking all sad and forgotten. The perspective on it is lovely - the path going off into the background with all the sheds spaced out along it, and that sky - beautiful! I love your shots of the snow falling as well - lovely and clear and crisp. I can't believe I never got myself organised to get out and take pics when we had snow - what a wally! Mind you, I suspect we'll get some more before the winter is out!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

He he he - loving the bird igloo! What gorgeous colours too - you can just about make out the colours of those last leaves...............
Thank you for the comments - the reason the lichen looks so good in the photo is that I always focus in on a plant (lol) and love lichens as well as anything else with a chloroplast.
I'll have a go from further up etc and check out those google ideas - I've alot of close ups of all the stones but always end up looking at the lichens on them - lol
