Frozenace, your canon uses a smaller APS-D sensor, so the magnifying effect is 1.8x.

Ok, not part of the challenge but a few of my previous attempts at architectural photos

Scottish Parliament building - the windows of the SMP offices. These are like little pods that they can sit in.

i took this whilst Chrissy shopping on Saturday.
It always seems strange to me when you get shops in beautiful old buildings.

Lover that LT. It reminds me of Chester. I really like old buildings and I always try to look up when in a shopping centre because the front always looks the same but when you look up it usually a really beautiful building. That was what I was planning to do in Liverpool because the main street there is full of the most amazing architecture but you would never know by looking at the shopfronts.

  • Wow - look what I missed by being away for a few days! Whoever would have thought that "Something architectural" would take us from Chicago to Paris via Orkney, with derelict factories and scaffolding dogs for good measure!

Contemplates - methinks you've employed some clever tricks on the processing on that second shot of the factory?! The balance between the exposure on the brickwork and the sky is superb, I can understand why that factory grabbed your attention as the lines are great. Cheri - lovely to see some pics of the Scottish Parliament building, I've been past it more during the long slow construction than since, so it's nice to get a good look at the finished building! LT Nice buildings - I can certainly see why folk are drawing the comparison with Chester too - where is it? Bury St. E or somewhere like that?
