any chance these greedy half witt politicians will start to get off their own backsides and create some jobs that matches the cost of living in the uk, there are only so many ware houses and food stacking jobs to go around. Its ok the doo gooders saying id work for pennies its no good earning shirt buttons if you have a mortgage kids to feed etc or rent to pay, it seems they are using unemployed people as a scape goat for the bankers and politians own !!!! ups.Not every person on jsa is a scrounger they would love to work but for a wage not a soup kitchen.

Lots of people have paid thousands in tax and ni into the system so its their turn due to some unfortunate circumstances to get some "benefits" back

what goes around comes around and when it does i hope the dreamers on here wont be expecting their friendly neighbourhood banker to bail them out or understand their situation.a bit like the politicians easy to batter the unemployed than the other self serving piggies.

    Couldn't have said it better.

Looks like the tax payer will be worked like a peasant to get their years of tax money back lol

I won't be standing for it anyway.

Single mothers are the main ones I'd like to see disrupted. Why should they keep knocking out kids on tax payers money?

I'm really happy IDS is going forward with this. Decent bloke.

You appear to have forgotten the word 'some' in your post.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I think it's a brilliant idea, a few years ago Look East did a piece about immigrant workers picking potatos and other farm manual labour type jobs, the farmer stated on TV he couldn't get locals to apply for the jobs, hence the reason he was using immigrants.

Used to do that as a kid along with golf caddying and delivering leaflets, it was never considered 'an adult job' in the owd days icon7.gif

Round My Way there is a chap that wonders about in pink bunny ears. Assume he can't get a job as ears tend to put proscetive employers off !

Got to say though that I don't tend to think of street cleaners etc as peasants. Would I want to do it ? No. Would I do it if I had to? Yes

Someone should start an online labour exchange were peeps can put in requests for slaves at £1/hr and get matched to the formerly workshy. I've got loads of wee jobs for unwaged accountants, tax advisor, web-site designers, nurses etc.

So for you of you who are so vocally against this...

...what proposals do you have to put forward to sort the situation out?

I will have to assume that if I don't get answers, you merely wish to see the long term unemployed, stay, unemployed and live off those who ARE out there cleaning toilets, doing labourer jobs on construction sites, picking litter, mowing lawns etc?

Errrrrr massive investment in job creation and re-training ? Massive investment in building new houses, new technologies etc (rather than waste millions on this)..
I would assume that any recent graduates, former construction workers, IT/financial service workers, architects, web-designers, previous self-employed business men/women and those from other professions are all vastly qualified already... and far from 'work-shy'.

Why don't you answer instead why you feel people like these will be helped by picking up litter and mowing lawns for their JSA ? If you're so vocally 'for it'..?

There's never been any successful way so far to sort out the 'deserving poor' from the 'undeserving'.. why don't you come up with a solution to that as well ? :)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Errrrrr massive investment in job creation and re-training ? Labour tried this didn't they? The problem is bigger, and due to all the investment, we don't have a penny left. Massive investment in building new houses, new technologies etc (rather than waste millions on this)..Nothing to do with getting the "wont work" brigade working.

I think you will find I already suggested earlier on in the thread that it should only be those out of work for 6m or more doing this.

I don't care whether the person was formerly a web designer, GP, or a business man. They lost their jobs, and if they won't do any other job, thats up to them....but it's not up to me to support them while they sit there denying to do jobs just because they had a better one before...they can work while they look.

This just leaves those who see the jobs available as beneath them, and the serial won't work people.

Couldn't give a toss whether they are qualified or not. A qualification doesn't mean you are entitled to a decent job, and other jobs are beneath you.

You keep trying to change the slant and suggest this would hit the wrong people. It will hit those who won't work, or won't take the jobs currently available.

Those who will work (regardless of if it's their wanted, or perfect job), will be taking the jobs available, and won't be hit.

It won't "help" any of the workers. What it will do, is show them you can't simply sit and put your hand out.

I'm assuming you think that just because someone is qualified in something, they sholdn't be expected to take any less, though they should be entitled to take money from those taking lesser jobs?
