Hi everyone,

I have been a closet lurker for ages now! Have decided to come out of the closet to thank you for a great week. I have 'grabbed' the game from Argos, a couple of stocking fillers from Debenhams, a few bits from BHS and the festive hamper from Marksies.

I am on a roll!

Oh no....Kate I realy realy hope you got one in the end...you deserve it after helping all of us....couldnt believe it when i read OP didnt get 1 either.:(

I was lucky. I also had the issue with the code being different, but they let me have it anyway, based on the fact it was the same price.

My argos store had about 20 of these games. We're quite a small store which is usually dead on a Sunday and actually had quite a few people waiting for this when we opened!
It's free so obviously it's going to go out of stock quickly.
We had people coming in after the shop had been open a while and yelling at staff as there is none left. Apparently going to trading standards, actually shouting at us, throwing papers at us, asking us to reinburst their £1.35!? I have also read some negative comments on here and I am shocked at how rude and ungrateful people are being about something that was free??
Forunately most people wanting the game were understadning that we were oos and were very grateful for us reserving it at another store.
I don't want to sound like one of those moaning, mean SA someone mentioned, I just think it's sad that we got abuse for something out of our control.

Huge thank you to the op, I reserved one last night on the original link, got to store this morning just after midday, signs up everywhere saying no promotional games left. I just went to till, gave my reservation number, then handed over the voucher - assistant read it carefully, then called the manager. He explained that it was a different code, I gave it my best "oh, I thought I was doing the right thing, reserving it" eyelash flutter, then elbowed the DDs to give it the puppy dog eyes lol - and he overrode it on the till, & we got the 2nd edition )

I think the issue is that the Express said 'Free for EVERY reader' - subject to availability (the get out clause)
