i still havn't sorted out my account yet. Still waiting on them.
If i was to open a new account? Even under a different name/bank details. Would they still track it to the address i live at?0 -
If you open a new acc, they might match the ip used or bank details
They asked me for ID on the second account as it matched my address on my main acc0 -

yes eventually, maybe not for months or even a year or so. However they seem to catch you when it is most inconvenient, usually just as you spend money on stock or do a lot of listings. Then you get a complete ban.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The fact you had to ask and couldn't think of any rather answers your question I'm afraid.
I have 4 shops on ebid, but I don't sell anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think eBid suffers sometimes (when it even makes an impact on the general public out there) from being seen as the place where people go to sell when they are kicked off eBay. It's done it's reputation a bit of damage that most of the talk on its forums is how crappy eBay is and how they were glad when eBay gave them the order of the boot.
And if you've been banned from one site, another site possibly won't be very happy about being recommended in their stead. Other sites from what I see are trying to improve their standards and fall into one or two categories: sites with very strict ideas of what constitutes a selling policy/terms/etc., and specialist sites dedicated to one area of buying and selling. The generalist, free-for-all sites that don't or didn't have as strict a regulatory policy as eBay have either gone under or struggle to attract buying traffic.
From a buyer's perspective, I'd far rather buy from somewhere and someone who took things seriously. I'd rather not chance my money on sites with little or no protection from sellers who can't maintain their accounts in good standing. You may feel it's unfair of me to say this not knowing your personal circumstances or what happened to you to get kicked off eBay, but I have no way of knowing why that happened and would think twice about buying from you on a different site."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Yeah basically Ebay have a monopoly on the internet. Which is a shame.
and your buyer perspective is right. Theres no-way to tell the difference between someone who's been banned from ebay for say selling stolen products compared to someone (as my circumstances) they expect to have been hacked etc.
What would stop alot of these problems was if ebay was to or had given me a warning to what they expected. Ask me to prove my identity and if i didn't. they will suspend my account. Not suddenly decide to just suspend it without warning.0 -

For media items, not quite. Amazon and Play are huge business. They also protect their buyers with an iron fist, and that's really where the situation falls down: very few sites prosper unless they have mechanisms in place to deal with buyer frustration. People put up with that because mostly it's a way of selling things and making money. Good sellers IMO are those who can treat buyer nuisances, returns policies, legal necessities, site policy and so on as a cost of doing business, and the people who are bad at it ignore warnings, ignore a softly-softly approach, and only listen when they are smacked in the face and made to desist.

Problem is, if you'd have been hacked, then it's likely that the hacker would have access to things like your selling account and be busy ruining your reputation and theirs for the sake of a few quid while you sorted that out. It's better for eBay to lock things down completely and then ask you to prove things and so on rather than letting a hacker run riot on their site."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
